Help! COLD AIR INTAKE CAUSING CODES

Interesting. I wonder what's the difference? It really seems like GM had quite a few running changes on the XLR in it's 6 year life. Probably due to the V, trying to make more parts compatible between V and non-V.

    3rd Brake Lights

How are all these companies making custom lights that don't follow the original design? Why would you need to make a copy of the existing one instead of a custom one? Did any of them make other Cadillac headlights? I'm not sure why they can make after market headlights of every other Cadillac in...

    Question about tires

I'm happy with my Bridgestone Drive Guard's also. Good mileage on them so far too.

    3rd Brake Lights

Mickey, have you talked to a company that actually makes headlights through Chinese manufacturers regularly? Companies that do regular business with Chinese manufacturers don't pay the same prices for tooling someone doing one off business with them do generally from what I understand.

    3rd Brake Lights

Unless we show some amount of want they definitely won't make any regardless of the economies of it. Who makes them for morimoto?

    3rd Brake Lights

I bought one of the Chinese "new" third tail lights, thinking mine had some burned out LEDS, ends up it was just the window I used as a mirror. LOL. Been thinking of adding some strengthening glue to the mounting brackets on the cheap new one and using it for a few years, keeping the original...

Help! My top doesn't work either

There is no magic to the top. It's all just computers, pumps, cylinders and programing. If it doesn't move, you have serious problems, if this dealer can't get beyond that, you need to find a new dealer.

Help! Areas of importance when looking to purchase ?

The single biggest thing to look for is a flooded/previously flooded cubby in the far drivers side corner of the trunk. It's under the carpet covered by a cardboard cover and has $5k of electronics and pump in it. If it's been flooded and there is water stains on anything there, look at a...

    Help! Convertible Top Troubles

Sounds like you might have slightly bent arms on this. There's another thread somewhere on the site I believe they had to "nudge" them back into place. That wouldn't be something outside of normal repair methods for vehicle repair, but it's probably something you would really want the GM manual...

    Help! Convertible Top Troubles

If you have access to a Tech II tool the first thing I would always do is a top relearn. It's non-invasive, and these cars are all getting older, I'm guessing a re-learn is in everyone's future some day. Your issue does sound like more than a re-learn can fix, but if you can do it with a...

Help! 2009 XLR Platinum Part NEEDED

Someone on another thread mentioned using a paintless dent guy to try and pull them out with his tools. But I don't see the point, they all dent, and any fix will dent again. Might be cheap enough though.

    2008 XLR-V Manifold replacement

Here's a couple pictures showing how far off the fit is.

Upgraded factory stereo and added 10" subwoofer

I've been pretty happy with the sound of the XLR's base stereo with the addition of an AUX input that I have a Bluetooth receiver on. The problem I've had with it is it's wild swings in equalization if you set the stock stereo to adjust levels automatically. It REALLY cranks up the base with the...

GM Abruptly Replaces Head of Cadillac Brand

The new guy at Cadillac is Steve Carlisle. He's a former production engineer. Hmm, maybe a few e-mails from XLR owners worried their car will be totaled thanks to GM's lack of foresight? I do believe we have a much better chance with him than some guy that moved the Cadillac headquarters to NYC...

GM Abruptly Replaces Head of Cadillac Brand

GM has ruined Cadillac by allowing Buick and even Chevy to sell super expensive and up-scale optioned vehicles. It used to be you bought a cheaper Chevy, then "moved up" to a Cadillac. But what's the move up now? You can get heated and cooled seats in a Chevy, covered in leather, with all the...

    2008 XLR-V Manifold replacement

Stick with the stock manifold. Magnaflow has terrible customer service, and they don't have a CLUE about what they sell for the XLR. It's hard to get the manifold off, but not impossible. The manifolds I got from them came with bolts that wouldn't even go through the holes in the manifold, let...

    New wheels

You should look at the pictures on the lexani site and find a nice place to take a picture of your car with those rims. It looks better than some on their front page IMHO.

Help! COLD AIR INTAKE CAUSING CODES

I thought I read Volent had a problem early on? Maybe you got old-new stock. I'd try calling Volent.
