Simple system, there is a control module in the left rear truck well, a vacuum source and a solenoid valve behind the right rear tire. Computer tells the controller to apply voltage to the valve, which opens and closes the exhaust pipe valves. No signal, or no vacuum and exhaust is loud. I...
There is lots of discussion on here about these topics. I would recommend staying away from the 04/05 year models. Parts are getting hard to find. Headlights and taillights will total the car. Make sure the top works well.
Check for water signs in the rear electronics well in left rear of the...
Common failure part of the fuel system is the tank level float in each tank. Corvettes have the same problem, wipers on the float wear/get dirty and cause erroneous readings.
I believe there are 26 “computers” in the XLR. The Body control module maybe considered the main one? It’s under the fuse box in the engine compartment I believe, could be wrong on that thought. Might be under the passenger toe kick panel.
FYI, it’s a bit more than just filling the mounting holes on a V hood. The whole front edge is recessed for the chrome trim to sit into. The whole front edge of the hood would have to be filled to look right without the trim.
I’m thinking you have an aftermarket alarm system in your car as the XLR doesn’t come with one. You need to find the documentation for your alarm system.
Actually I hope not as I have an 07 V with 227000 miles on it. But from what I have read, fuel sensor alone will cost $1800 to $4000 to replace. Just expect low ball offers from anyone that knows what it’s going to cost. Best wishes.
I tried glueing mine down, worked for a while but it’s back separating again.
It’s not that hard to remove the dash pad.
Trim pieces pop off ends in each door. A-pullers pull out, and if I remember there are screws on each end,
Have to pull shifter knob and console back to get center dash off...
Sounds like the part that sits underneath that. I found one on eBay for my V a couple years ago. Very hard to find unless someone has a blown engine they are parting out. Very fragile, the front part snaps off real easy.
