    winter driving

Couple suggestions for winter driving: 1) For starting off in the snow, I usually do the shifting from second gear (less wheel spin and more traction than in first gear). If you leave the trans in manual mode (like 5th), I believe it will automatically start off in 2nd (someone correct me if I'm...

Just wondering ... Did you get the regular tires or opt for the run-flats? And later on, please give us some feedback on the M3's.

    Hand Accident

As I was reading about your sad ordeal, I was wondering if there was consideration for a toe to thumb transplant ... I now see that is a possibility. I've seen good success with this operation ... Something to contemplate for the future. Wishing you a speedy recovery ... Get well soon!

    Do you see XLRs??

I've seen only a few in New England ... Far less when I'm driving in the snow!

    winter driving

I have a 2006 XLR and I've driven it thru two New England winters so far ... I plan to put the snow tires (on stock rims) on shortly for this upcoming winter season. To me, the stock tires are crap ... Had them on a previous car (Acura RL) and disliked them on that vehicle too. That car was AWD...

    THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!!

mtrocket- Excellent piece of venting!!! When I was a kid, I had to learn to tie my own shoes ... There was no Velcro back then. And we watched MTV via candle light because there was no electricity in our house.

Bruce- Do you have any idea if this newer fluid is recommended in older (60's) Corvettes too?

    K&N Air Filter

The Volant is a good system ... Especially for your V. In my base XLR, I chose the K&N and have been very pleased. I'm sure it would work well in the V too.

    Elfi Arkus-Duntov has Passed

It was very sad to hear about the passing of Elfi. Back in the early 90's, I surprised our local (Massachusetts) Corvette club by getting Zora & Elfi to accept an honorary membership (I thought it was a kool idea). Anywho- She returned the signed applications with a very nice note. The funny...
