What shoud I watch out for

It took me almost a year to find my V and I’m so glad I held out. I got lucky enough to find a low mileage, one owner, accident free vehicle and I got a top of the line warranty to with it which has proven to be money well spent. Happy Hunting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hello from Belgium

This is a very old document but the first list on page one is the approved motor oil manufacturers for the standard required for the XLR (GM4718M). I’m sure if you dig around you might find a more current list. http://stuartschmitt.com/car/gm_approved_engine_oils.pdf Sent from my iPhone...

    Strange noise and chiming sound

Right! I knew I had heard the acronym before, but it escaped me when I read your original post. Glad you located the problem. I always unplug my phone charger from the console port because I have absolutely no confidence that it will shut itself down. Unlike in my 2011 CTS which is much less...

Aftermarket Remote Start using stock key fob?

I just had a very cool remote start module installed on my 2011 CTS which uses the stock key fob to trigger the ignition by pressing the lock button 3 times. I wonder if there's any such product that can be as easily integrated into my '06 XLR-V? Anyone?

    LOOKING FOR FRONT SHOCK

I negotiated a top of the line Lexus Pre-Owned service contract when I purchased the car. Because all 4 shocks were leaking they qualified for replacement. Zero deductible to boot! [emoji267][emoji41][emoji267] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    LOOKING FOR FRONT SHOCK

It’s common for these to leak after 10 years or more. I had all four of mine replaced under warranty last year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New Guy Rock From New Haven, CT! Need Some Help! LOL

A point of note: I have an 06 V and run the same Corsa Kit on it that is spec’d for the Base XLR. I spoke to the R&D folks at Corsa and they agreed the dimensions are identical in both. The stock V system uses the same vacuum actuated valves in the resonators to regulate flow used in the...

New Guy Rock From New Haven, CT! Need Some Help! LOL

Welcome aboard. Like several other members here, I opted for the Corsa cat-back system which works right out of the box. I have one on my 2006 XLR-V series and it sounds wonderful. Just The right amount of growl when you’re in it and perfectly burbling when you’re not. I did have mine welded...

ALOHA! from Hawaii!! New XLR owner

Wow. Well congratulations on your purchase. Yes, headlamp and taillamp assemblies are hard to come by and are pretty expensive when they do. That’s a fair amount of codes you got there. I hope you got some kind of warranty when you bought the car. Good luck to you! Sent from my iPhone...

    Help! Heat tunnel plate

When my mechanic was installing my new shocks, I had him check the bolts and he noted about 70% needed to be tightened and 3 we’re missing which he replaced. He applied a heat resistant Permatex Silicone Sealant to all of them. Very happy with the lower heat transfer than the stock piece of...

    FLOOD CARS

They do look very similar, but side-by-side you can see exactly how different they are in shape, size, dimension and even functionality. They are, however, no easier to service and the XLR units, which I discovered while changing both low beams and the fog lamps.

    FLOOD CARS

I had been taking my time shopping for my next daily driver when the storms hit. I sold my 2014 Wrangler Rubicon with 14k miles on it for $34,000 to a dealer in Dallas. Two weeks before Carmax offered me $29,500. I had been looking at CTS wagons. Reasonably priced, low mileage, one owner...
