Nope...no gaskets. But you will absolutely want to ensure that the torque specifications are observed on those bolts. I took my V in about a month after I had my ceramic tunnel plate installed and had them retorque the bolts and three of them had already fallen off. But it's a very good mod...
There is a "Performance Mode" that changes the shift algorithm in the transaxle and stiffens the MR shocks.
Outside of that the only "Launch Control" is your right foot!

Welcome Dr. Dan!
There are a couple of SFV locals that are in this club with us. I live up in Granada Hills but I'm in the North Hollywood /Studio City all the time. I have an '06 Series also Black/Black.
I don't know about investment potential, but I have never enjoyed driving a car more...
Interesting collection. I see you have a fondness for Japanese cars. The XLR is a bit of a departure from the Japanese design ethos, but I've have no regrets about purchasing my V.
You will want to factor in some of the potential "cons" in owing a car produced in such low volume, like parts...
Your changer is toast. It was the first thing I had to replace on my car. My warranty picked it up at the dealer for $1100 as I recall. But I'm sure it can be done for much cheaper than that by picking up the part on eBay and having a local shop do it.

I didn't realize you had a "V". Yeah, they can be scarce. I'd contact some of the large outfits like LA Wheel and Tire here in Chatsworth CA and see if they have a single or even a double.
I got my wheels from chrome exchange outfit in Santa Ana CA. I'll dig through my receipts file and see...

They offered me a GM warranty but they didn't have a 4/50 comprehensive policy with a $0 deductible. So I opted for the Platinum warranty from Lexus (Toyota Motor...
As I've said elsewhere on this forum, a good warranty on this car is worth every penny. I got all 4 of my shocks replaced (the rears are harder to source) by my local mechanic at a cost of $5500 of which I paid $0. Since I acquired the car, I've had more than $12k worth of warranty work done and...
Congratulations to you both. That's an amazing gift to give someone. Get yourself a good aftermarket warranty to go with it as it will prove to be a big gift to you in the long run!

Yes, that could very well be your problem. The octane deficiency would certainly create conditions that would set off the CEL.
