This is essentially what my mechanic told me (however "less-fancy" it may have been). My V is 10 years old, and under a $0 deductible warranty for another 2 years or 40k. So my motto is " replace, replace, replace"!!! Hence the new temp sensor and thermostat. [emoji6]

I had this problem and replaced my temperature sensor and pigtail. It happened again and my mechanic said the thermostat is the likely culprit. We replaced that and have not had a problem since.

Good Very Merry Christmas to you all!!
I am blessed to have an amazing wife who actually pays attention to the little things and, low and behold, this materialized in my Christmas Stocking this morning. WooHoo. It's the only switch in my XLR that, while it still functions properly, has lost...
John- These are factory OEM 2006-09 XLR-V 19x8.5 wheels. I exchanged my painted 2006 wheels for chromed units that were available on 07-09 units. Not sure who the vendor was who made them. I purchased a fifth one and mounted a Conti ExtremeContact on it and keep it in my garage just in case...
I agree 100%!! I subscribed and "lurked" on this and other forums like it for the nearly two years between committing to purchase an XLR and finding the exact one I was searching for. This is an amazing resource and am very grateful to all who contribute to it. I can only hope to give back in...
My mechanic says it sounds like a really ****ed off Chriscraft. And he's got an 08 STS V that his mother drives![emoji267][emoji41][emoji267]

I installed the Corsa Cat-back system on my 2006 V series and it’s been a joy. The vacuum lines which actuated the valves opening the secondary outlets were plugged so they don’t throw any codes.
Shocks Replaced under Warranty!!!
Over the years I've coached many friends and family through the car purchase process. One of the "commandments" if you will is "Thou shall not EVER buy ANYTHING in the finance office...especially an extended warranty or service plan!" When I bought my '06...
That looks a lot like the "GM Licensed" after market spoilers we sold for the gen-1 CTS and STS at the dealership. We used to charge $1800 installed (ridiculous markup)! But we did have to drill into the trunk so it took some commitment to go that way.

So, I too noticed a "squeezing" or "groaning" coming from my shocks and had them inspected by my trusted local mechanic. And all 4 were suffering from compromised seals. Warranty adjuster confirmed this condition and authorized replacement of the shocks and tierod ends. While the front pair...
I can't imagine why they would use two different airbags. Outside of the heat function I why would there be any difference whatsoever?
I've decided to take the last paragraph of your post as a compliment since I can't imagine you meant it any other way. [emoji41]
