this is a thread that discusses erasing all fobs from the memory and relearning them all over again.
probably what you are trying to do.
on a side note, that old fob #2 you have might just be broken, may not be able to recognize it.
might want to relearn that fresh #3 as the first fob
and then...
if you are replacing an existing antenna, then the holes are already there, might as well replace with the same type of antenna.
if you are looking at a new install, i would seriously consider NOT drilling holes , and install a wartless antenna.
those warts ruin the lines of the car.
WELCOME!
congrats on your new xlr. lots of info here recently regarding tires. you can do a search.
main consideration is do you want run flats or not.
then decide do you want a higher performance summer tire or a high performance all season tire.
all depends on your plans for the car, only ever...
i have been looking at the continental DWS for Dry Wet Snow. it is an all season tire, very good reviews.
i didnt know they made a summer tire DW, for just Dry Wet.
anyone comment on road noise with the DWS since its got the extra tread for the Snow ?
i like the wear rating of the DWS(560) vs...
at that mileage, might just go for a flush and fill on the coolant??
most caddy and chevy dealers always running specials on coolant.
my local corvette dealer will do it for under 100.
the coolant on the N* needs to be fresh.
then you know its good fluid , burped properly etc.
i am sure even that short ride around the hood gave you all the motivation you need to keep working on the car.
i bet it sounds great with the aftermarket exhaust and top down!!!
if i read your description right, the shift lever was just jammed up?
seems probable.
brake sensor could be...
normally , when car is running and in PARK, you have to press the brake pedal to shift into Drive or Reverse.
there is a distinct clicking from the shifter, the solenoid lock mechanism, that will click when you press the brake pedal.
you can press the pedal 3 times and hear the click 3 times...
what is the oem part # ??
that would probably cross ref. to some other GM or caddy vehicles.
then see if any of those had aftermarket cap.
or spray paint yours with chrome rattle can!!
you can also just remove the passenger side exterior door switch, try cleaning the contact surfaces, and reinstall.
still only takes 5 minutes.

you can remove the drain hose completely.
mine is an 07. at some point they left the hose OFF from the factory.
dependng how small the original hole is, you could enlarge it from underneath with a drill.
and add another hole at the other corner of the cubby.
even a hole at all 4 corners wont...
this thread has really good pic.
shop can install in 15 minutes. probably charge 1/2 hr.
you can install also if you have ramps... super easy.
any one have advice on getting an alignment after the install??
since its the rear i'm not sure its really necessary.
if you havent had an alignment in 4...
here is a pic of the underside of a corvette. front end.
the parts look the same even though its a different car.
see the transverse spring yellow arrow.
then above each red circle , above the lower control arm, is where the leaf spring presses the rubber adjuster down against the control arm...
spring adjusters
across the front and read of the car are transverse springs. instead of coil springs like most people are familiar with.
under each transverse spring (at each end) is a large bolt with a rubber pad on the end.
this lets owners adjust the spring tension to adjust ride height...
i think what he is saying is that if one is bad the others are probably close as well.
my opinion is that shocks can deteriorate over time. they dont always fail catastrophically.
it can be a slow deterioration, you only really notice once they are really bad.
but if you did replace all 4 you...
check the headlights for damage, and all bulbs working properly. internal lenses sometimes yellow/ burn on older years.
i dont think 06 was effected, but headlights are hard to find and expensive to replace.
check the front lower skid bars and valance, if the bars are cracked or damaged, most...
