Wouldn't this type of repair be covered under an the warranty I negotiated with Lexus when I purchased the car. Not to imply that I have this issue, but I'm just wondering out loud.

Funny you should post this Al. I was almost 100% the same way until yesterday and today when circumstances forced me to drive my V. It's been just too hot for top down driving so after almost 2 years of ownership, I finally got to experience it with the top up. I'll be damned if it doesn't make...
My pleasure John. This is a great forum and people have been very helpful to me here.
I held out for two years before I found one that ticked all the boxes. And my list was long: one owner, less than 50K miles, verified service history, clean Carfax, black on black 2006-7 "V" that was...
I have never owned a base XLR and my only experience driving one was in the very first 2004 XLR my dealership sold (which is where I caught the bug to begin with).
I've never heard of many "V" specific issues vs. the Base. They're potentially affected by the same quirks that any one-off, decade...
They were sold just a few days after I posted this. The buyer did put them on his '06 base XLR and it sure did improve the sound.

It uses a plastic clip that hooks under the lip of the trunk at the center. A tension slide keeps it taut and the remaining two feet or so of cord are folded up, tied into a loose knot and laid into the trunk which acts as a theft deterrent for the cover.
Well, since I sometimes make two or three stops, I really don't want to cycle the top that many times in day. I've already had the pump and module replaced once under warranty and I don't want to tempt fate.
I don't really think it makes a particularly attractive target for thieves since most...
Living in Southern California allows me to drive around topless more often than not. Sometimes I need to park for a while and I really don't want to have to put the top up every single time I do. A car cover takes up a lot of space and too much time and effort for a half-hour coffee run. So...
I live only a few miles from the Lloyd's Mats headquarters in Northridge, CA. I was frustrated that the plastic loop sewn into the bottom of the mat wouldn't stay attached to the post allowing the mat to gather under the pedals...Very Annoying! So one day I dropped by there offices and met a...
I get that your "flat karma" may be a little off, but I don't really see the correlation between EMT's and protection for a low front end. Even if you had a blowout at speed it's not like the front end is going to drop to the ground.

Never happened to me, Al. But my tire guy said that the repairable area of a EMT is much narrower than that of a conventional tire because the shoulders play such a pivotal role in keeping them operational. I believe he said you could effectively repair a puncture within 1 - 1.5 inches from...
Agreed. It's very much a personal choice. But what I find so astounding is just how improved the experience is from one tire to another.

Exactly my thinking Lextoy. I've been looking exclusively at Summer "Max Performance" category from the beginning. I live in SoCal and the car only gets about 3500 miles a year and NEVER sees the rain.
I've only had them in since this morning, but so far I can't recommend the Conti's high...
Thanks Cadzilla. Love my baby and try to keep her in tip-top shape. Honestly, my spare tire program is mainly a daily sacrifice to the Tire Gods and a paid up AAA membership. I don't take the car much further than 50 miles from home. And I haven't had a flat tire in years. Livin on the edge...
Unbelievable Difference.
So finally, after much back and forth nail biting and teeth gnashing, I pulled the trigger over at Tire Rack and purchased 4 Continental Extreme Contact DW's and had my guys over at Firestone Auto Center mount them. Oh my goodness what a world of difference over the...
I'm wondering which model Dunlop's you were talking about in this post. I found a set of Dunlop Sport Maxx RT in the V-series rear size of 255/40-19 for $160 per tire delivered. Since this post is already a few years old, how has your experience with the Dunlops round out?
