Ahhhh...that's a beauty! If we didn't already have the best color - infrared!:thumbsup - I'd go for that blue. You're right - can't wait to get out & DRIVE! Gonna have great weather this weekend. I think we'll take Red out for some exercise, hopefully see the granddaughter for the first time in...
OOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo....Nice! Wish I could get somwthing like that up here in Dallas. Anytime you guys get up here, let me know. We'll do lunch or something.
I always thought these were really sharp looking cars. But, to show how your perspective changes, I remember seeing one of these back when it was new, and thinking, "That's one of those new little compacts!" Of course, compared to the barges the big 3 were putting out then, it WAS a compact...
I did the same thing as 05 Grand Daddy. Just take the housing apart, exposing the little switch. Connect the two wires directly and the computer will always think the cargo divider is in place. Just be careful you don't try to lower the top if there's stuff in the cargo area. You might break...
Hope you have better luck than I have had. The Corvette clubs around here (north Texas) are pretty much, "Thank you for your interest, but drop dead!" when I inquire about joining their activities.
Did any of the XLRs make it on TV? I recorded everything I could of the broadcasts, but haven't found ANY of the XLRs. I was hoping to hear what the commentators had to say about the XLR's viability as a collector car, value, reputation, etc.

LIGHTS!
Be SURE the lights (head, tail, turn, etc) ALL work properly, are not cracked, are not hazy to the point of unusablity, etc. Some of these are nigh on impossible to fix or replace! Top mechanism is next - cycle it several times. If possible, test drive and listen for wind noise...
Source for tail lights?
I was just watching an episode of '*****ing Rides'. They were customizing a Hummer and had built a custom front end for it. This part had a large boomerang-shaped cavity for the head lights. They used some sort of a laser scanner - ran it over the cavity multiple times...
Poor little vettes
"I think I like my little Infrared gentleman's Corvette better!"
I like to tell the Corvette guys at a car show, "This is what the Corvette wanted to be. It just never grew up!"
Welcome to the forum. Too bad you didn't have it 2 months ago - you could have brought it Bowling...
Check all the lights
Burd, check all the lights, especially headlights and tail lights. Make sure all the functions (turn, emergency, running, etc) work correctly, and have no cracks. They're very hard to find and VERY expensive if you do find them.
Colorado trip
Thanks for the kind words, Chuck! We really had fun and enjoyed meeting you and Shirley.
Funny you should mention a trip to CO. I've been champing at the bit for a while now to take Red to Colorado and do some mountain driving. The road between Silverton and Durango is calling...
Had a great time!
Well it’s back to the real world in the morning  Had a terrific time: the activities, the restaurants, but especially the people! This was our first gathering and loved it. Thank you Chad & Rogene for setting this in motion. You did a great job. Hope we see all our...
