2013 XLR Bowling Green Plant Homecoming - Sept 28th, 2013

Warning, make sure you have the correct amount and DO NOT hand the guy a 100 dollar bill, he'll say he has to go and get change but the next time you see him, he'll deny he owes you anything! That happened to me at RII in 2008.

    Adaptive Cruise Control

When I preformed this test, I was on a metered on ramp, up hill grade, and my car did come to a complete stop and the engine rpms dropped to idle. I did have to hit the brakes because the car started rolling backwards. Now that I think about it, the ACC could have shut off at 3 mph and there...

Has anyone ever damaged their trunk lid while opening or closing the top?

It's actually smog particles gathering dirt the weight them down to settle on our shiny cars. That's why I keep mine in the garage or covered out side.

    Adaptive Cruise Control

Hi BOBO, FWIW, my 06 Base WILL COME TO A COMPLETE STOP by it's self unless I step on the brake and believe me, that's VERY HARD to keep from doing just to show off.

    Rough Idle

Try a different brand of gas and make sure it's HIGH TEST, 97 Octaine or better. I use Chevron w/Tec stuff in it. And yes, I have had that same problem with only 12,000 miles on my XLR.

Has anyone ever damaged their trunk lid while opening or closing the top?

Yes, with the trunk lid up and the garage door open, my grandson tried to close the garage door (hinge type) with the button on the wall and the door hung up on the trunk lid and lucky for me I was able to stop him from raising the door back up because the trunk lid and the garage door were...

Grateful New Member - 05 XLR

Please stick around Tom, I think I can say your knowledge of these problems and the fixes with the early XLRs would be a BIG PLUS for the rest of us on this forum and for the XLR owners who just check in to find answers/solutions to problems they have.

    Suspension Data for Possible Upgrade

You know Giz, I was just thinking about how to make my ride softer and decided to buy another set of rims so I could put some softer Vogue 'tyres' on the car for cruising and the OEM rims and Michelin tires for show.(Show & GO) The reason for the softer cruising tires is, my lady friend that I...

V brakes supposed to be super stiff??

I had a 86 Caddie Fleetwood de Elegence that had a 4.1 L throttle body fuel injection system and an electric vaccum pump to assist with the vaccum required to operate all the different things in the car. One of those things was the Power Brake system. Once that pump went out on me and talk about...

finally found something I don't like about my XLR

Yes, we have got to get together because in the poker realm, we'll be OPENERS!:beerchug: My muscle car was a 1966 Dodge Charger w/383 High Performance Police Interceptor power train and a high speed rear end. I got arrested and the car was impounded less than a month after I bought it for doing...

    Adaptive Cruise Control

That really makes sense to me Dave, thank you. Guess I can stop worry'n about some body running into the rear of me because my stop lights didn't warn them and stop using the emergency flashers.

finally found something I don't like about my XLR

Why use an OLD WASH CLOTH on such a MASTERPIECE?:blinzel: You must be married, which is a HUGH buz kill for owners of these cars.:chuckle The only other car I owned that was as good of a chick magnet was my 1959 Blue with a white top Caddilac Sedan de Ville. I was only 21 and I think that car...

Driving to the XLR Homecoming 2013

Here's a little FWI I've learned when going on long trips alone in our XLRs. I only pack 3 changes of clothing, including what I'm wearing so I can carry them in my passenger side if there isn't enough room in the trunk with the top down. That way, I wash two sets every second day of the trip...

    Adaptive Cruise Control

That's interesting Dan, I'll have to pay more attention to my rear on the BG trip next month. When my car is slowing down, all my attention is on what's happening in front of me and what I can see in the rear view mirror rather than the side mirrors where you can see the brake lights on the...

That was the same quote I told my 11 year old grandson when he saw all the ammo I had for my WWII M1, Schmit-Ruben 7.55 (AP) Sniper Rifle, Lever action 45-70 etc etc. I was taking him out to the range and taught him how to SAFELY HANDLE AND SHOOT every weapon in my collection which covers a...

    Adaptive Cruise Control

Another ++ for the ACC, it sees in the fog! A couple of years ago, while going east on I-40, early in the morning doing 75 mph with the ACC ON, I found myself suddenly in a fog bank and before I could tap the break to turn OFF the ACC, it detected vehicles in the fog that I could not see at all...
