The dealer tells me that the #15142776 clamp is on back order.
Sli1, said GM has a new clamp #25933429 that seems to work as well.
Is it an equal to the clamp on your list and would you recommend using it???
I just replaced the stock air filters with two K&N #33-2305 lifetime filters. Don't notice any change in engine sound but the acceleration has definitly improved.
Just ordered the rear sway bar parts from my local Cadillac dealer. Thanks for the list Bruce.
The dealer said it's an hour's work. So, for the one hour labor charge, I'll let them install it.

I don't think so.
If you go to Forum; General Discussion; "Help 06 XLR" Paulc17 (about 12 threads down) the thread will explain the problem that has occured with the roof on some XLR's. Bruce also provided a GM Bulletin addressing the problem. Read the entire thread.
Hope it clears up the...
I asked the XLR forum about the marks on the roof on August 28th. Since then I have had the problem repaired and the roof repainted, all under warrantee. As an added precaution they lined the trunk lid bracket (where it was touching the roof) with a plastic piece.
Cadillac told me that if the...
I'm using a C-Tek US3300. When set on the "car " mode the output is
14.4 volts, 3.3A.
I used the term "tickle charger" too loosly. The C-Tek also maintians the
battery.
It's a great unit (small) and it can also be permenently mounted in vehicle.
Thanks for the service record and vehicle build on my 06 XLR. I bought the vehicle used (two and a half years old), so it's good to have the history on file.
The only thing that concerns me in the car's history is 2 dead batteries within two and a half years??
I was told that if the vehicle...
I was told that changing the standard engine air intake cleaner to a different type would boost performance.
Is this true? And if so what type of air cleaner is it?
Run Flats
Thanks for all the feed back.
If I ever get a flat on my CTS, and I use the fix-it and pump, I guess Cadillac will have to replace the tire sensor (under warantee) if it's damaged.
I'll probably stick to the present tires for now.
Thanks.
Just celebrated the one month anniversery with my XLR. What an amazing machine.
Went to a summer car show held every Thursday night, at a local shopping center parking lot, and the XLR drew a lot of attention. It was the only one there.
On to my technical question:
I'm thinking of replacing...
Washer nozzle cover
The cover on the right side of my car also came off during washing. The plastic locking tab on one side broke off. A small touch of Elmers did the trick.
FYI
My two fobs were already programed (#2 incorrectly) so I had to skip
step 4, of method 3, and leave the glove box fob pocket empty during the 3 ten minute cyles.
Learned this through trial and error.
The programing method #3 worked!!
It is important to keep any existing fobs out of range while the programing is taking place.
Once the three 10 minute cycles were completed the DIC was ready to program fob #1, then fob #2.
Thanks again.

I 've only had my 2006 XLR for about a month and I love it.
When I took delivery the dealer only had key fob#1. He had to order fob#2, which I just received in the mail this week.
To save a trip back to the dealer (a state away) I followed the instructions in the owner's manual to activate...
