The cause of fuel system problems

Modern, high quality gas shouldn't have sulfur in it (or only very low levels), it is a pollutant that should have been refined out.

    Any dealings with OPG?

Thanks. Does anyone have actual experience of dealing with OPG?

    Any dealings with OPG?

'Morning all I note that OPG are carrying XLR parts now (see Cadillac XLR Parts @ OPGI.com) A quick scan over their site suggests that currently they are only carrying GM parts available elsewhere, and judging by their prices, they are not yet the cheapest out there either. Anyways, does...

Help! 2004 XLR IGNITER AND BALLAST

Yes, that's fair. I'm guessing I had taken the wheel off for other reasons.

Help! 2004 XLR IGNITER AND BALLAST

IIRC you have to take the front wheel off first, it makes it much easier. It is very easy to swap out a headlight. Don't drop it.

Help! Press the GO button and everything shuts down

The most common cause of 'warnings all over the dash' is battery failure. OK, so you have replaced the battery and that went flat too. There is a significant drain on the electrics somewhere I suggest. Do you have any aftermarket accessories fitted?

    S.O.S. - Shock and Awe!

Mine is going the same way. It seems to be age as much as anything. I'll be fitting new shocks all round soon.

    Help! XLR trunk lid

Make sure you get the trunk deck lid gas struts. Some after market catalogs are listing the hood strut codes for the trunk struts. The trunk struts are compact (MUCH shorter than the hood struts) and have very high loadings.

Help! 2006 XLR convertible top issue

There are adjustments. You need either a workshop manual yourself, or a competent dealership with XLR skills (and the manual). Glad you like your XLR.

    Help! XLR trunk lid

The gas struts (when working correctly) require an enormous force to compress them. You won't do it by hand.

    Grounding Points 2006 XLR

You will need a full set of wiring diagrams in order to find all of them. Workshop manual.

    Xlr corse

Get a fuel rail pressure gauge and determine the pressure during the crank no start condition. There is a test point under the engine cover. Changing the fuel pump is expensive (in labor).

    Xlr corse

Many years ago I met a similar problem just once, it was caused by a a powerful transmitter near by jamming the car's electronics. It only happened parked in two specific parking bays, must have had focused power somehow. Any chance of that? There is a huge difference between a "no crank" and...

Goop on windshield header/roof seal, failing rubber stop

This had me puzzled at first. I found a small amount of strange goop in the middle of the roof seal, at the top of the windshield. Not grease, more like paint to remove. Very, very sticky. On the underside of the front of the roof there was more of it. There is no place in the roof it can...

Low Oil Pressure at warm idle!

About right. The N* has surprisingly low oil pressure at idle.
