    Hi, my cover lays flat BUT it touches the top of the pump(plastic cover). I think this is just the way they mounted the pump,a little diff. in each car? there are no stupid quest. :wave: Al

    Noise when shifting gears . . . .Low Speed

    I had something like this shifting from 1st to 2nd.it would shift late and when it went into 2nd would kinda shift hard or maybe a clunk?? tech changed the 1st to 2nd shift solenoid,it was sticking,cured the problem.done at 40k, still good at 56k!! good luck :thumbsup Al

    this all sounds good. the rear end oil change @8000k mi was for a new type of oil to stop the clutches from chattering, most of us have had this done and it solves the problem. it's one less thing you have to do!! Al:)

    Welcome newv, I agree w/ the above and would not let anyone but a cert. xlr tech work on your car.. I also get the sand on the frame rails,don't live near the water or out in rain. I think it's road dirt but it looks like fine sand.it comes up under the engine. clean it off and after a month...

    Oil leak

    the north*'s like to leak @various places. the biggest=most costly is the middle block/oil manifold. GM changed/upgraded the oil manifold and mine has been leak free for 15k miles, also had the cam actuators replaced for weeping oil. Al
