Little late on this... The export lamps for Japan and Europe have the extra pin in the center. The center pin is technically pin B in the service manual... The US spec lamps do not have the center pin. ledfix.com

It's official...they are from China...see pic. The original ones were stamped 'Made in USA' on the back of the plastic housing.

You may want to try to return that third brake light Monday. 'New' GM ones are currently being listed online for $118 plus shipping. I suspect GM sent the tooling to China for manufacturing there. It's happened before.. Why they are giving them away? Don't know. Maybe like Sears....dirt...

The 'Candi' module is a inline add on module for 2003 and newer GM vehicles using a CAN network. Without the Candi module you are dead in the water. A real Candi module is about $600. Lots of fake Tech2s and Candi modules on eBay. I would suggest most are Chinese fakes.
