    UNAVAILABLE DISCONTINUED PARTS

Good thinking on the spare pair! Someone could likely find out the name of the factory in China. It would take some digging, starting in Bowling Green or Detroit. I believe that trunk and tail lights are no longer available. That along with many modules etc. No standard hoods, only the V...

    UNAVAILABLE DISCONTINUED PARTS

I too have a 2008 XLR. There are other Cadillac vehicles with 'similar' headlights. I think the only out is to have them fibreglassed in. Perhaps somehow the factory in China that made the originals could be contacted. Tail Light assy's too. We are doomed it seems. Nobody Cares. Can Computer...

A little word of warning for our XLR owners

I recall reading about that screw-Drivers side? I believe there is an article in the Forum. I will also look it up in my 4 Volume Service Manual. Thanks.

A little word of warning for our XLR owners

Ended up getting a better Battery Tender. OFF TOPIC; sometimes my Passenger Door will not open when the button is pressed. I discovered that if you hit the Unlock button on the Drivers door that it will then work! Hope this helps someone. Struts for holding the Trunk Lid up are no longer...

Help! Unable to reset Memory Seat settings

May sound Hokey but try disconnecting the Battery (-) for a couple hours. Also RTFM.

A little word of warning for our XLR owners

Mine is small enough to lay beside the big fuse box and only the AC cord sticks out front.

    UNAVAILABLE DISCONTINUED PARTS

My head hurts after reading all of the above. There are also multiple Modules and sensors no longer available. If I had to I would get Full size Caddy headlights of the era of similar shape and have them molded in.

A little word of warning for our XLR owners

Do NOT forget to fully close the hood. I put an empty tin can over the hood latch. The safety latch will not hold it at highway speed. Don't ask me how I know.

A little word of warning for our XLR owners

My battery on a 2008 would be dead in a week from parasitic drain. Once I disconnected the Battery for 2 weeks as the trunk was opening without reason when parked in the garage! When I reconnected it, it cured the trunk opening and I did not have to re-index the windows. Possessed!!

A little word of warning for our XLR owners

I leave my Premium Battery tender connected at all times. I also have a 10ga wire running from battery connection on Fuse Box routed to coming out just under the splitter. Capped with Marette. I can boost or charge with this connection. I also connected a Choke cable to operate the Hood...

    XLR Hacks

Thanks very much RD. I will go about getting new struts somewhere. Do you have a GM #? What length are they?

    XLR Hacks

Thanks for that very helpful tip on the Torx RD. I will look for the Trunk Strut replacement video. Hopefully it is not buried too deep.

    XLR Hacks

Thanks for the Response. I found that the Lock-Unlock switch on the Drivers door needed to be toggled a couple times before the Passenger door would unlock when it would not do so normally. I may try replacing the trunk struts but I don't think they really hold the trunk in the open position...

    Trunk Lid Malfunction.

I have had mine since 2013. 37,000 miles on the 2008. I put an auxiliary hood opener fashioned from a Choke cable and also have a #10 wire exiting out front for remote charging.

    Trunk Lid Malfunction.

I replied somewhere here. After frying 2 trickle chargers, and the Trunk lid opening with Drivers Door or just randomly with no one around I unhooked the new Battery for 2 Weeks. No problem since. I think the trunk switch was the problem but I did not mess with it. I am not saying the...
