    Kenwood DNX893S in the XLR

Ronald, Rexter (as usual) is correct, each brand of radio (Kenwood, Sony, Alpine, whatever) each have their own proprietary module/connector to get to Sirrus/XM, but that typically does not come with the DD radio, it is an additional option and I know for my Sony it was not cheap...for some reason?!

    Kenwood DNX893S in the XLR

Ronald, Yes, the Push to Talk just connects me to Siri in ApplyPlay and the SCRL takes through the various parts of the audio, cd, radio, phone, AppleCarplay, etc The Vol works on the new DD for radio, phone or CD, etc and the channel button goes through the radio stations or tracks on...

    Kenwood DNX893S in the XLR

And to add to What LT Sally said, after putting in my new Sony system, with rear-view camera, built in radar jam/ detectors the works—you do not, as many have said in various posts, need to keep the original radio BUT you do have to keep the original amp—as that's what feeds the signal to the...

Couldn't Agree More... John B., You went into the detail I didn't want to write...but that is exactly right, I just found with the less stiff sway bar (i.e., smaller diameter) I got better handling and kept the balance, I think this smaller bar is a nice balance between--as if the back gets...

    After market install

Josua and Rexter314, thanks for the tips, and following original harness for wires is always a good idea, I will make sure they take no shortcuts. So after telling the custom stereo shop I am working with that I do not want amp/radio in the trunk--this is what they said are doing now. Since the...

Josua, did you keep the original radio in the trunk. Rexster says you do not need to, wondering if you did?

    Mobil! 1

Steve, yes full synthetic , it is recommended by Cadillac for the XLR, but personally I have run it in every collector car I have, particularly if you don't put on a lot of miles on, you can not change oil as often. As well I run Mobil tranny, diiferential, steering box, etc. I run 100%...

Updated Sway Bar Part Numbers Thought I would respond to this 'ancient' thread to point out that the parts indicated here, particularly the XLR-V sway bar, are no longer available.
