    Start Pushbutton

The last time I bought one, it was $25.00 (7 years ago). I paid $80 as well this time. Thanks for another link. I wish this site would list sites where to find parts (as they get scarcer) but I know that would be a lot of work for somebody to pull it together. There must be a reason while...

    Start Pushbutton

Hello, again I got the new switch. They are getting very hard to find. I bought two, so now have a spare. The new switch solved the problem. Amazing that this is now my 3rd switch. I checked resistances and compared the new to the old. Switch was out of circuit and on workbench. So no brake...

Transmission linkage failed, parking brake on and top is down

Thank you for your assistance. Got her jacked up and stands under it and put the shifter in "Park" and crawled underneath and pushed the lever to where it matched the cable extension. I put the head into the hole where the bushing goes and waiting for part to arrive to finish the install. Had...

Got her jacked up and stands under it and put the shifter in "Park" and crawled underneath and pushed the lever to where it matched the cable extension. I put the head into the hole where the bushing goes and waiting for part to arrive to finish the install. Had to zip the file as it said it...

Transmission linkage failed, parking brake on and top is down

Thank you so very much. Removed the cover and there is a little lever with a yellow handle. Pivoted it 90 degrees and the parking brake came off! You are a life saver!

Transmission linkage failed, parking brake on and top is down

Well, jacked up the back end and put two dollies under the back wheels and with 4 guys we pushed it into the garage for now. Nice to have a friend with a welding fab shop!

Transmission linkage failed, parking brake on and top is down

Was parking the car in the garage and went from park and then reverse and then park and it slipped and linkage to transmission must be broken (hopefully bushing at the transmission). As the car was rolling down hill in the driveway, I hit the parking brake. The top is down on the car. Can't...

Help! DIC shows "In accessory mode"

I had that happen and changed out my push button Start/ACC button. I am not sure but I think the pressure sensitive buttons fail and the car goes to ACC position. There is a procedure available to remove the trunk and gas buttons and the lower cowling. Bought plastic pry tools for the...

A little word of warning for our XLR owners

I thought that I had posted the replacement part for the rear struts, but I do not see it here. Stabulus struts are available in Canada. Don't forget about the limit screw. I did not replace the bottom socket, just unscrewed the old strut and screwed in the new strut and only had to clip on...

A little word of warning for our XLR owners

What the struts or the 4 volume? 4 volume is available but one has to be careful. I almost bought a 2 volume and the seller said he thought that that was the whole set until I saw a thread here that said some of the CD versions were missing a lot of info and I believe they were made off of a 2...

A little word of warning for our XLR owners

I want a 4 volume. I have recently decided that the two volume is missing some good stuff.

A little word of warning for our XLR owners

I changed them last fall. I will look it up. Just remember, there is a little "travel" screw in the linkage that has to be removed in order to get the proper length to install them. Without knowing that it won't fit! Too many components on this car are voltage or current sensitive. Systems...

A little word of warning for our XLR owners

I once had a battery tender go bad, my emergency key was in the car on the Fob that I thought that I had removed and hung up in the house. The dealer couldn't cut me a new emergency key as he needed the ownership and it was in the glove box in the locked car! I know, right. Pretty sloppy...

    Start Pushbutton

My Start Push Button is acting up AGAIN. Changed it out about 15,000 miles ago (7 years ago) with a new one and needs it again. Last time, the switch shut the car off whilst driving! No power steering and can't remember if the brakes worked or not , I was in town in a 45 mph zone so going...

    Incomplete printed manuals

I am looking at buying hard copies. Some are selling a two manual set and some a four! Is that the difference that you are talking about? Is it possible the CD was made from the 2 volume set and that the 4 volume set has the extra details that you are stating. I am sitting on the fence. I...

Looking for help with Blend Door locations and/or repair.

Okay will check that out. A thermistor that "opens" will show high resistance which relates to lower indicated temperature (than actual). Perhaps that is keeping the blend door partially open, passing heat.
