The later coil connector; with the locator tab. Posting these just so there’s a visual reference.

    Help! Ignition system testing help

I recognize this is an extension of the conversation that started on the other thread. Disclaimer - I personally have not serviced an XLR ignition system so part of what I’ll say is only my experience in other coil on plug engines. I have seen the boots be the point of failure, usually if they...

    Compression test procedure

Charge air cooling system is a little bit more involved, it has you using the tech2 to cycle the electric pump.

    Compression test procedure

Cooling system pretty straightforward. The steps cut off from second photo are just “let engine cool, top off coolant if necessary, inspect for leaks.”

    Compression test procedure

Great questions. PS system info attached. I’ll get the cooling system info next, and follow Mickey’s advice for the coils/boots.

    Compression test procedure

So here are the relevant tidbits, for calipers, pads & rotors. Fronts: nothing fancy, regular dual piston calipers. Mounting bracket to hub is 175Nm. Clean the mating surface of the hub where it meets the rotor, while you have it off. Caliper guide pin bolts are 31Nm and the banjo bolt is...

    Compression test procedure

This one I do have in PDF form - owners manual does a good job with this. Page 6-92 for capacities and 7-11 for specifications (including part numbers). The oil spec was superseded by Dexos1 Gen3.

    Compression test procedure

Haha I know that feeling! I’ll look them up. It’s tricky as I can’t get pdf’s, just old school screen shots as you see. Do you have a tech2 you’ll be using for ABS bleed? Edit - and do you have a pressure bleeder of some sort?

Video: How to go about Repair?

And the diag table for c0035, with the values you can check with your multimeter. Step 9 is cut off but it’s “replace EBCM” and step 10 is just “clear codes and test drive.”

Campaign PIC4487 may have some insight, G402 has the note “Transmission harness, on the underbody, on the RR frame by the RR wheel well, ground for CKT1050.”

Video: How to go about Repair?

What was your method for checking the sensor and determining it’s ok?

    Compression test procedure

Cool. Hope your findings are all positive and the upgrades go smoothly!

    Compression test procedure

Yes, it’s specific to the LC3. I’ll see what I can find for a bleed down test. Is that what is sometimes also called a leak down test?

    Compression test procedure

Last four steps out of pic are install air duct to TB, install spark plugs, install PCM, and install ignition fuses to the IP fuse block

    Color/VIN mismatch

Oh cool - is that a common XLR thing? Usually it adds 50% give or take to the cost of a paint job.

    Color/VIN mismatch

The door jambs and hinge areas etc all painted too. I’d wonder about the edges of the hood and areas around the firewall, and inside edges of the trunk lid. Color changing a car correctly and hitting all those little areas is a pricey proposition!
