Thanks Gord. The prices on the site you suggested seem too low! The OEM parts from GM are about $1750 per. I think I'll get my mechanic to check it out to be sure they're correct. Also, there is much talk on the forum about the associated electronic components in the traction system. Was...
Hey Hawkeye, just saw your post. Wondered about your shock replacement. Did you go with the OEM parts or find a suitable aftermarket source. I need to do the rears one my '05. Thx. Kenn
Hey J.C. Sounds like you found a sweet car. I have an '05 in crimson pearl with the tan interior. Tons of fun to drive in nice weather. BUT... repairs are expensive and sometimes parts are hard to get. I've had mine for 17 years, bought used in California in '07 and would certainly buy it...
So I went away for my annual trip to the sun for 2 months, left on the battery minder, and when I returned I have discovered that the light under the hood is out. Checked to see if it could be a 20 minute time-out thing but alas.......it's done.
Has anyone changed out their bulb under there...
So my 05 has had a small leak for sometime. We shampooed the engine a few months ago and it stopped for a little while or the volume was so small that it took awhile to build up again. The local dealer advised that there is a gasket that fits between the engine hemispheres and THAT is the...
Shampood and spray washed the engine of my 2005 XLR. Now it is running really rough and the "check engine light" is on and won't go off. Did not start running rough until a few days later. Took it for a long drive on the highway and that did not help. Anyone have any ideas?

Bluestar, continued
Most of the posts about this unit are from 2011, so I am not yet ready to give up. They have an updated unit and claim that it works better. Is there anybody with any recent experience with the NEW and IMPROVED Bluestar unit. Still reluctant.
I have been checking into the Bluestar unit that is meant to replace your OnStar unit in your GM vehicle and still allow you to use all of the mirror controls with your new bluetooth hookup. The end game is to save you the ridiculous airtime charges and the monthly membership fee to be an...
Thanks Phrede; BTW....nice car! The system that you described actually replaces OnStar, is that correct? I really don't need OnStar and am ****ed about being charged 50 cents a minute for airtime that would be FREE on my cell phone! Does the unit that you mentioned plug into the same cables...
Bluestar by Costar
Has anyone done the change from OnStar to this other Bluetooth friendly system? The are providing all the diagrams and info for replacing the OnStar system with their module and claim it is simple, seamless and works with all of the internal functions already in the vehicle...
The other day my left front turn indicator bulb gave up. Thanks to information supplied by this group I was able to disassemble and remove the burned out bulb for replacement. (You DO NOT have to remove the tire or jack the car up to do this.) The bulb that came out was a 3757 but when I went...
Good question about drivers 1 and 2. I have only assumed that it is only on driver 1 as my wife (driver 2) rarely drives the car. I think your idea of re-teaching the seat, mirror positions etc is a good one and I will try it and see if there is an improvement. ccCclarke has opined that there...
