Im working on one to mount the radio up higher inplace of the vents and move the vents down under the radio. Seems evety new car i drive is set up that way and i like the screen higher so i dont look down as much. Give me your opinion.. What kind of trunk button did you use?

If one failed you really need to replace both. It may hold the trunk open but its not assisting the pump to lift the trunk. Extra effort causes the pump to work harder and fail. Thats a 1000$ vs 15$ for a strut.
All i use is a thin long screwdriver you just slip it behind the bottom clip and twist and the ball end pops right off. I do so many i bent the tip on one screwdiver to make it even simpler. you have to heat to keep from breaking it. Glad you got it figured out. Its easier for me to pop off the...
Never seen one wear . either the pin breaks right at the end of the teeth or the clip in the door breaks and falls out. They take a ton of force to pull off the car but they will go back on with just the lightest of pressure almost falling back in place
You dont need to. if its still in the door Its reusable. If its broken it usually falls out. you Can just use a pick to release the two tabs holding it in
