"Whining" noise from differential or axels

So, I've searched through ALL 78 pages of the forum & couldn't find (or missed) anything related to my issue. I have an 06 base that at around 82k miles, I noticed a very faint whining sound coming from "somewhere". After a few days, I noticed it getting louder. Now, it very apparent that it...

XLR-V on Z06 suspension w/ big brakes and 19x10 wheels

GREAT info! Thank you for sharing! I was looking into doing the very same thing. Now you've taken out the guess work for me! :)

    Tire and Wheel sizes

I would agree that a 255/35/20 is only going to be off by "maybe" 1mph. In other words, if you're traveling at 76mph (on the speedo) you're actually going 75mph. Conversely, if you're running a 255/40/20, you may end up going a "bit" slower than what the speedo says, by about 1mph. In my case...

    Tire and Wheel sizes

I run a 255/35. (on a 9" wide wheel) So width wise, it's no problem. I prefer the 35% aspect ratio over the 40%. "Lower" profile, but not "Looooow" profile. :) On an 8" wide wheel, it'll look a little more aggressive & still work very well.

    Tire and Wheel sizes

I run a 20X10 +45 with a 275/30 in the rear. They rubbed inside & out until I cut away the inner fender liner & wore away the fender lip! No joke. It's as big as can possibly fit. The D-3 setup mentioned earlier rubbed & smoked like you wouldn't believe. They also ditched the mag ride, went to a...

You can't pull or roll the fenders on these. :(

    Tire and Wheel sizes

The 285/35's 100% WON'T fit. (been there done that.) You need to run a +45 offset in the rear with a t 275/30 at most. Even then, you'll rub. It'll still rub until you rub away some of the inner fender liner & inside, top edge of the fender. A 265/35 or 265/30 will work without rubbing. I run a...

"Z06 Bilsteins & simulators"??? Are the Bilsteins magnetic? Or is that what the "simulator" does? Please elaborate. Thanks!

    Rear swaybar parts list '04-'09

I'm running 275/30/20's (Nitto 555r's) on mine, with the Z06 rear sway bar. I've run it hard through the twisties with no understeer issues. But those tires are like gumball & as wide as can fit on the car. I think that even with stock sized tires, the Z06 sway bar wouldn't be too aggressive...

The end links are already greased. You just want a little grease on the bar & brushing side it doesn't squeak.

I didn't see the message about the grease, etc. until just now. I'd definitely utilize the grease as directed. I've got Z06 sway bars & wish they were even stiffer. It has ZERO impact on the "ride". It simply helps keep the car flat in the turns.

Very easy install. As for it causing a CEL (Check Engine Light) goes, you just never know why some it will & some it won't. (In ANY brand. Not just Cadillac) As for our cars, the computers in 04-05, 06, 07-09 are all different. Which makes it definitely worth you while to investigate the threads...
