    Lower grill replacement

I think they where made by E&G Classics for GM and where made for the XLR-V. From what I under stand they can be mounted on a base XLR but you will the adaptive cruise control, not sure where you can find one.

    hard top control modules.

I think some dealers are unfortunately holding out on parts for our cars. I needed 2 hydraulic struts for the struts and my dealer checked and could not find any nationwide and then put out a request. I waited a few days and still no response from dealers. I decided to start calling dealers...

    folding top won't open

Are you talking about HOOD SUPPORT STRUTS or the the various hydraulic TRUNK/TOP SUPPORT STRUTS. The various trunk and top hydraulic struts are different from your hood struts and some of them are much more expensive. I have had all of the hydraulic struts replaced in my trunk replaced and the...

    Roof dents

This has happened to many cars, there was a thread a few years back about it. I can only think/assume that maybe hitting bumps/potholes or something of that nature can cause it to happen. If memory serves no one could come up with a definitive answer as to why and Cadillac was suppose to have...

    Roof dents

This happen to my XLR also a few years back, and the bolts can leave a dent or leave a hole in the paint about the size of a pencil eraser. You can either shave the bolts down or cover them with some silicone, I did the latter.

Hydraulic trunk lift cylinder Gm part #88957088

Sorry for the late reply....the actual initial problem was actually the latch mechanism. But from the the trunk opening and suddenly closing it blew out both lower hydraulic supports, the ones that sit inside the trunk area that have hydraulic lines connected to them.

    UNAVAILABLE DISCONTINUED PARTS

I have found that some dealers are just ignoring the inquiry bulletin that is sent out from your dealership for XLR parts. Earlier this year I needed to replace 2 hydraulic struts for the trunk, parts guy stated that he had located 2 and was waiting for the corresponding dealerships to...

Help! rack n pinion for 2005 XLR

GM has indeed discontinued the power steering rack for our cars. I recently had my power steering rack replaced and I found the last one that Auto Parts, Buy Car Parts, Automotive Accessories - Buy Auto Parts had in stock. ACDelco no longer manufactures our power steering rack, but can rebuild...

    Coolant leak

Long Tall Sally......thanks for your responses, I will take a look. Ironically the system was pressure tested about 5 times in total.

    Coolant leak

Recently the "Low Coolant" warning came on in the DIC, checked and topped off the coolant...no more warning in the DIC. About 2 weeks later the warning appears again, and I repeat the above. I noticed each time that the level in the resevoirwas getting lower and lower from the previous time...

I actually use a leaf blower that is only used to dry my cars.

    Volant intake

When I took my car in for the codes, we put the OEM air filter boxes back on and cleared all the codes. Drove around for 3 months with the OEM air boxes and the system never threw a code. Put the Volant CAI back on with a new MAF, and within 2 weeks I starting getting the p0174 code again. He...

    Volant intake

I have the Volant intake and have the same issue, CEL will come on and I get the p174 error. The tech found buried deep in the GM knowledge base that the plenum housing is "out of round". Meaning that housing that the CAI fits into is not round, but slightly oval, and there is no TSB or recall...

The hydraulic system on my top will not hold the top or trunk in place.

Hydraulic trunk lift cylinder Gm part #88957088

redvette94....thanks for the reply, I will pass this on to the tech. Whats got me puzzled is that it seems that the latch itself is working. The trunk will always engage, open a few inches and then just shut and after 3 or so attempts it will open properly. Could there be an air bubble in the...

Hydraulic trunk lift cylinder Gm part #88957088

Looking for a little insight on this issue, if possible. Thinking back this issue started after the installation of the new hydraulic pump. Looking at the way our trunks operate, it has to be one of three things or a combination thereof. It can only be hydraulic, electrical or mechanical...
