    XLR started ALL of this

As a follow up, that video discusses Cadillac not knowing what it wants to be (like that’s new!). Husband took out our V for a run yesterday and said it “is such a beautiful work of art. I will never understand why Cadillac crapped all over it and the program.” Again, because Cadillac DOES...

    Extended Warranties

Did not have those, had USAA and another that I can’t remember. Very worth it for expensive oil leak fixes. USAA was golden, the other one gave us a bad time. BUT it is very hard to find any decent warranty once you get past ten years old. Best to try to set money aside for repairs at that...

    I need battery advice

We also have a black XLR & like Richard Yoo have switched from Optima to Odyssey. Just did it so can’t report on long term use. Also came up with a solution for the connectors to the battery breaking after years of going through replacement batteries.

    XLR started ALL of this

Thanks for posting that James. Entertaining and amusing video. Among other aspects of an internal combustion engine, few things are better than sending a message with your exhaust note. I’ll miss that when EV’s get crammed down our throats and take over.

Substitute available for battery terminal nut at parts store?

Battery terminal nut is worn out. Have found where I can get it online but was trying to do a car show tomorrow so was hoping I could find an in stock substitute to try to get tonight. Any ideas are appreciated!

NEED HELP .....2006 XLR How to use key to access trunk

It’s p. 2-14 in the manual, with this description: “The key cylinder is located behind a cover on the lower rear fascia on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Use the key to pry open the door to access the key cylinder.” Manual is here: https://www.xlr-net.com/specs/2006/2k06xlr.pdf

NEED HELP .....2006 XLR How to use key to access trunk

It’s on the bumper on the driver side - there’s a square you’ll have to pop out. The keyhole is under that. Stand back from the bumper & look, you should see it.

What did you do to / with your XLR today?

Cadillac car show is next weekend, so last weekend I washed Victor (black V) & cleaned the inside. Didn’t want to leave Beauty (red base) out of the fun so her engine got detailed - did the interior two weeks ago. Today was Beauty’s bath day and …. she wouldn’t start. :banghead: 6 year old...

    just sayin' Hello

I’m a little late to the party but good to hear updates from you guys. I too would like for us to get together again. And I about fell out of my chair that Chicago Dave’s Cindy is calling the “devil car” her own!!! We don’t let our kid drive our XLR’s. Still got both of them, our area has...

    Any XLR-V Rims For Sale?

Here are some pics, hopefully they show up good enough, it’s definitely best in person. By the way, my calipers are powder coated, in a subtle dark gray Same guy repaired some clear coat damage on our XLR-V wheels, can’t tell anything ever happened to the point it gets 1st place trophies at car...

any tricks for cleaning suede seat inserts?

Dr. Beasley’s makes both a cleaner and protectant. Haven’t tried the cleaner, have used the protectant in my ATS which has Alcantara all over the place. Seems to work.

    Any XLR-V Rims For Sale?

My actual experience supports what mickeytee is telling you. The alloy on my base rims was flaking off. Took it to our wheel repair guy who said paint was better than powder coat because if it gets damaged you can fix it. So I picked an awesome metallic flake and had them sandblasted...

Help! Foam pieces in the HVAC vents?

Be careful ... they are nasty sticky and will smear like tar ... so avoid getting them on anything. Real fun to get out of clothes. Watch for the pieces getting blown out of the vents so you don’t sit on them, remove carefully so they don’t smear.

    Can always dream

Yet another rendering of a future XLR - I definitely like the front - found a 2015 article proposing the mid-engine should go to Cadillac, not Chevrolet, and going through the reasons. Obviously didn’t happen. This picture came from Corvetteblogger.com with a poll where the majority of people...

    XTS Impressions After Two Months

ccclarke, my son likes the same cars you do. He’s always looking just for fun, and has shown me a lot of XTS’s with high miles that have held up well. He also loves CT6’s. So I’ve learned a lot through him! I agree every new model seems to be something that will get killed in 5 years and...

    Top Switch 19210515

Also they get loose & out of position & need to be glued back in. There’s some old threads on here about that.

    For Sale Sad Separation

Chad: Tell Rogene that a nice Christmas present would be to let you keep two cars. Sigh... sad to see another long termer on here leave, tough understandable. Guess we’ll be welcoming a C7 (Cubby) & a C8 if we ever all get together again.

    Help. Trunk wont stay open

Watch out using that inside button for the trunk - if you push it caddywumpus & it gets caught sideways, things like the trunk opening automatically when you open the door will happen. Don’t ask me how I know ... I stick with using the fob now.

Got rid of my Mag Ride Shocks!

I have 2 questions I’m hoping someone can answer (without producing another argument on this thread 🙄): (1). Has any forum member who personally owns an XLR-V successfully done this switch? I’m not looking for those who have done it on someone else’s car. I see Fireduck said the simulators...

Thought I’d share - learned how to delete PM’s on new site

There’s no “delete” button anywhere, so was lost. I then found out clicking “Leave” will let you delete the PM. Not at all what I would have expected. So, if anyone out there is as dense as me on this, I’m sharing the info.
