it's a common flaw in 2004/2005 XLR's. '06 and up use a different headlight... Don't have this melted DRL issue. Good luck in your search.

That makes a lot of sense (from what I have read on Strut grills onlilne). Doesn't look like much of a quality difference. I have heard good things about the quality of the E&G grills. IMHO - save your money - go with the E&G Grill.

The 2009 has a different Front Bumper cover - it is not the same as the 2006. I'm not sure if an '09 would fit on your 2006. The main difference is the Fog Lights (and surrounding area) and the lower grill area.
