Raising the front of the XLR up 1" to 1.5"

I scrape a little going in & out. I take it at angle, and my XLR drags less than everything else so I tend to not notice. Anyhow, I was suggesting backing the bolts back in all the way may raise it, or someone could have cut down the bushings. Sorry I can't provide much more help on the subject...

Raising the front of the XLR up 1" to 1.5"

You are trying to raise the car back up? I lowered mine by turning the adjusting bolts, I think we went all the way down, then back off 1 full thread. I don't recall how much thread was originally, but it does seem GM left us a lot of room for lowering on stock bolts. Hope that helps some. Bruce

    Hot Console Fix! HELP!

Elite Engineering makes a thermal tunnel plate that really helps this problem in Corvettes. The question is, do Corvettes and XLR's have the same fastener pattern for the part? It seems I wrote them once about this and never heard back. It is worth looking in though, as on my Corvette the part...

    Sleeping battery discharge rate

Well a few weeks ago the OEM battery was dead, so I sprung for red top Optima and put it on the Battery Tender. Last night I decided I would drive the car to charge the battery (and it's Friday so not everyone will see it). Anyhow, last night I unplugged the Tender, this morning it's deader than...

    another addition to the garage...

Okay Ruth Ann, if you drive up this far we will do what we can to make the other 12 miles to Bob's. Still working on getting this one purring. Interior is really clean, those are shadows in the picture. When was the last time you saw that type AC unit? Bruce

    another addition to the garage...

Thanks for the nice words on the car and the garage. I need a garage like Crimson Pearl has. I had the garage done by Garage Envy, they did the floors and cabinets. Custom contractor did the walls and shadow box for my die-cast. Bruce

    another addition to the garage...

I had been looking for a while, finally found this beautiful original owner 1964 Corvette. It was delivered in late '63 and the woman owned it until she died. Not perfect, but very nice. I'll update more as we progress with it. Bruce

    Important! headlamps

I was told any warranty coverage on this expired long ago. I bought mine used, replaced the lights myself and am now religious about turning off my DRL's, plus off looks so much better. Enjoy your car. Bruce

    Optima Battery

Thanks for explaining the difference, I wasn't aware of that change. I know C6 Corvettes changed the height of the battery in '08 or so. I went ahead and ordered the Optima. Bruce

    Optima Battery

Even with a Battery Tender the Delco battery only made it three years. Looks like the make an Optima Red Top to fit our cars now (25, 8025-160). I hope to get one this weekend. Bruce

Yeah, I just another battery, and I use a battery tender. Not happy, but at least I got 3 years out of it. Good to see you Ruth Ann, Hi to Ray. Hi to the new Coyote too (just to get back on topic) Bruce

Help! 2009 grille install on older XLRs

I agree, the grill on the '09 looks great. There is one member who did the conversion, but he did the bumper cover too. Hopefully he will chime in. Bruce

    Debadging

I debadge most of my cars, it's just a cleaner look, plus easier to wash and wax. On the XLR I did leave all the emblems in place. Funny, years ago I had a Porsche 911, I was going to put the big rocker stripes on it, my dad looked at me an siad "If they can't tell what it by looking, I don't...

    Sleeping battery discharge rate

Thank you for the great info here. I replaced my battery with an OEM & Battery Tender because I couldn't find an Optima to fit it. I'll look into these batteries next time I need one. Bruce
