    Wind Buffeting...good grief!!!

Three of the three nights this week, ie every night :), I've driven top down. Two were in the XLR. I'm not "disturbed" enough to buy a car that won't drop top! Yes. I'll let you know how it is. :)

    Wind Buffeting...good grief!!!

Thanks for the pictures! I might just try that "partially up" windows idea, too, when I'm on the interstate at speed. :)

    Wind Buffeting...good grief!!!

Was hoping to get my 68 Vette out this weekend, but ended up watching football about nonstop. Maybe one day this week. :) (Yes, it's a vert, too.) I don't think I've done a good job of describing the difference! Maybe your explanation is better. :) The wind hits me from the side...

    Wind Buffeting...good grief!!!

Even more so since I started it. I drop my top on my Vettes and ride top down more often, and for further, than anyone I know!

    Wind Buffeting...good grief!!!

Yes, with t tops off it's like that for sure. There is much less wind buffeting with the top down in my c7 vert, which is why I asked about options for the XLR. I located one of the GM mesh ones a guy is selling. I may try it. Cool that you and the girlfriend both have convertibles. :)

    Wind Buffeting...good grief!!!

I just do a ponytail or a cap. :) I do top down and windows down no matter the speed. :)

    Wind Restricters

Do you have the windows up or down?

    Wind Buffeting...good grief!!!

Having t tops out actually creates a wind funnel in car like a tornado! In my c5 Corvette coupe, I had something that actually lifted the rear lid of the coupe to let the air out the back so that didn't happen. :) Actually, I'm the girlfriend, and it's my car. What do you think about...

    Wind Buffeting...good grief!!!

I'm a convertible girl from way back. Always have one, and run top (and windows) down a majority of the time if I'm driving those cars. The wind just hits me A LOT different in the XLR, for whatever reason, so I'm looking for an option to not get buffeted. :) Heck, I don't even know if a...

    Wind Buffeting...good grief!!!

Noooooo! I will do top and windows down to about 42*. That's my limit. :) I just don't like getting beat up. Having a windscreen WILL help that, right?!

    Wind Buffeting...good grief!!!

I've had convertible Corvettes forever and, I'll admit, laughed at folks (especially in Porsches as it seems they are prone to do this :D) with tops down and windows up! However, the wind buffeting in the XLR is making me cry uncle! I've not put the windows up, and don't want to do...

LOW MILEAGE - - - Good or Bad???

I haven't even read the article, and I can answer! Low mileage, OK. Super low mileage, or virtually no mileage per year for the last umpteen years, is BAD! Many years ago, I bought my 68 corvette. The guy selling her told me he'd only driven her about 300 miles a year since he'd had her, as...

    How one can detect obsession...

Yes, Andy is very nice. I've not met Johnny O. LOL About your wife selling it. I always tell Kevin what I'm going to do with his "shop" when he dies. haha

    How one can detect obsession...

Ooooo, I want! (Since it looks close to mine. :) ) I have an Andy Pilgrim story. One of my friends is good friends with him, and he was always putting Andy stories in our Corvette Club newsletter. Me = come on, Andy isn't driving Vettes! So, Andy came to our Vette show, and my friend...

Cars and Coffee DFW (Sept 5)

Cool! Is it a big show? The one here is huge. We ended up watching several episodes of a tv series, and I didn't get to bed il 5:15 am. Since our show starts about 6:30 (supposed to be 8:00 but people go early), I didn't make it.

Great to be part of the XLR community...

Right?! He needs to go ahead and trade her in. True on both counts! Welcome, Vinni! And my XLR's name is Blue Bell. (Because she's blue, and because I got her this summer, the summer of no Blue Bell ice cream in Texas, which is huge news here.)
