I've owned five c5 corvettes. Two of them didn't have the problem. The other three did. Odd that a Corvette mechanic wouldn't have seen the problem! My solution was to always reset my trip mileage when I filled the tank. That doesn't cost a dime! :)

It might also have had to do with if your c5 was lowered. The day after I bought it, I had my c6 z51 corvette lowered as far as it would go on factory bolts and had it that way for the 8 1/2 yrs I owned her. My c7 is not a z51, not lowered, and I ride smooooooth. :) :lol:

Since the Carfax says minor damage and not a rebuilt title, I wouldn't expect a $10-12k reduction in price compared to other similar, non-wrecked vehicles. However, I would be concerned that the car has just sat around with virtually no miles put on it and been sold looks like three times since...

Interesting on just doing axle back. Definitely have to have mufflers here in Texas (to pass inspection.)
