Some Hawaii Pics - for those NOT on Facebook :)

Great pics there! I've been a few times myself, and it is always a grant experience! :) How long were you there for? What island did you go to? I assume Oahu by the picture of Pearl Harbor.

A cow, an ant, and an old fart

Lol, wow... Actually got me with that one. The old fart might milk the cow. ;)

    Whistling

Maybe an exhaust/emissions leak somewhere? I would definitely go with a vacuum leak though. You can try some water on the hoses and see if it bubbles at all, but you won't know if it's the exhaust or emissions unless you get down there under the car and actually look. Good luck!

    Coolant Change Question

That's a great idea! I have a lot of trouble bleeding sometimes, too. This is especially true on cars I drain the coolant from the block, too. It is always a pain in the butt to get the coolant back in the block, but one way to do it is just remove the t-stat and then gently force water...

    Coolant Change Question

Yeah, even more so if you have hard water. Also, I'm not sure what it looks like inside the radiator, but you might also consider flushing it and using a very mild cleaner. Although with 25k, you probably don't need it.

    Drawing to help wounded troops.

Not bad at all! If I knew there were only 6000 tickets or so bought on the day of the drawing, I would scoop up another 6000 for myself and call those good odds! It's going for a really great cause, too.:)

    Endorsement for Windblox screen

The review of Wind Restrictor appears to be listed under their alternative company name, Dynamic Auto Conectps, see: http://www.windscreenreview.net/windscreen_reviews/review_xlr.html They certainly have reviews for the Wind Restrictor on that website.

    Endorsement for Windblox screen

XFireXLR: That's disappointing, but I've really heard nothing but good about them. I've used their windscreen for over 2 years and it works as flawlessly as it did the day I got it. Not to mention it blocks wind better than the mesh stuff. You know, they have a lifetime warranty on their...

    Happy Easter

Oh....Macaroni Grill?? I'm so jealous... That's one of the best places I have ever been to. I used to go to Bravos! and the Macaroni Grill all the time back in Ohio when I used to be back East. Happy Easter everyone and hope your day is just grand!

    Radar Detector

I remember when I had an escort! I had a couple of them, but they were older than dirt. They both eventually stopped working and I am not even sure if they were detecting cops any more. But yeah, good times. I need to get another one, but a Valentine is probably what I am going to go with.

    Spring Cleaning!

Sound and valuable advice, especially with the seals and tube blockages. I've never thought about the convertible roofs much, but that could be something to really pay attention to. Just out of curiosity, how many times do you have your car belts checked per year? I heard once a year is good...

    Ultimate XLR Mod

I respect the work that went into the car, but I don't particularly like the style that much. Classic? Of course, but not functional, and you wouldn't find me trying to drift in that guy. For cruisin' and attention getting, I imagine it's fairly effective, though.

    Speedo

Wow, that's news to me, too. I actually never realized that they designed the instrument cluster. It makes sense on the XLR, though. It's a great car, so they probably put a lot of money into making it look great. Does anyone know any other facts on the design of the car and who did the design?

    Aftermarket audio?

To be honest, I would go in and have a dealer do it. Don't even trust Best Buy. With a simple car, such as a Honda or Toyota, any car audio place will be able to get by, but I have had, and know people who have had significant problems with more complex cars. It's worth the extra money...

How well does the wind restrictor work?

There's also a good site of reviews for XLR windscreens over at Windscreen Review. You can check this out for other options and opinions.

How well does the wind restrictor work?

I got my XLR windscreen from Windblox about a year ago, and it's been working out gret for me. I was looking at the Wind Restrictor windscreen, but at 2X the cost, I didn't understand any greater advantage. Then, I also checked out the reviews from Windscreenreview, which had good info. I'll...

Will the top ever go down?

I go top-down even when it's in the 30's. People look at me like I'm nuts, but as along as I have the heater on my feet, a good coat, cloth mittens, and an XLR windscreen (windblocker), then I'm doing OK. I just a clear sky, but not high temperatures, to go top-down.

How well does the wind restrictor work?

I found this site reviewing windscreens for a lot of different convertibles, including the XLR, which may be helpful, though I don't see the Wind Restrictor version reviewed there yet. Perhaps some owners of this windscreen should submit reviews so it can get ranked? For me, I purchased a XLR...
