Sled,,,, If your XLR is a 'toy' that you enjoy driving on a limited basis......keep it and enjoy the ride & looks you get while out for an occasional cruise. The XLR is an exceptionally great looking car with either the top up or down.

I had the same issue once........a good shot of WD-40 on the pin area took care of it. I now carry a plastic trim stick in the car,,,like the one on the far left with a thin bent edge, if the gas door ever again decides to not open.

Headlight melters were mainly in the first two years models.......and replaced under warranty if the owner ever noticed and returned to the dealer for replacement. I imagine many owners didn't notice the defect/flaw and did nothing about it. At this point in time if you have 'melters' than you...

One more thing about it,,,,,it sure would be an attention getter' at car shows. I really like the '57 front & '59 rear 'looks'.....favorites of mine. I always disliked the '58 Chevs Had to be a boatload of time and $$ put into that build.
