Personally, I'd like to see whatever photos you're willing to post... engine, exhaust, interior (gauges), etc... I'd also love to see any photos of the build process... I always wondered what an LS swap would be like :thumbsup
I have 285's in the rear, but I don't think 295's would fit... I get occasional rubbing with the 285's so I'm thinking about going down to 275's when I need new rubber.
I suppose you could get 295s to fit with minor body work... mainly you'd have to shave down the inner fender liner, and...
The PAC SWI-RC is tiny... it hardly uses any power. Its essentially a microcontroller that reads resistance from the steering buttons and spits out some serial data the aftermarket radio understands... it probably uses 100ma at most... just changing one incandescent light bult to LED will more...
I had to replace my horn as well a few years ago.
Its located on the front, behind the bumper fascia near the lower opening on the passenger side just inboard of the fog lamp.
i was able to replace it by going in from the passenger tire well (remove the liner)
What you are referring to is the replacement for the Tech2 called the MDI... it has a mode where it soft-emulates a Tech2 on screen... the entire MDI is essentially PC software, but you need a GM service account to make it work...
For $400, getting a chinese knock-off Tech2 is a pretty good...
I don't know what model-year we're talking about here.. but the magnet only worked with early model XLR's... for my 06 and up, you need an RF tool to trip the sensors for relearn... I ended up buying one for $100 or so (not the Kent, but another smilar one)... but discount tire near my house...
The one time i did swing by (when it was still at Uptown) it was a total mad house... lots and lots of cars... lots and lots of spectators... not necessarily a bad thing, but its not a small gathering :D
Another thing you could do while you wait to check on the plugs is to move the #2 injector to a different location. this way you can see if the problem with the plug is localized to cyl 2, or if it moves due to the relocated injector.... this would help you eliminate the possibility of a...
I failed the scientific method and I don't have a good before/after data point for you. :(
This I do know - if you are going to be doing pully swaps and thusly cramming more air into the motor - you'll need to get more of it out... and it would be technically prudent to let it exhale better...
I have changed the bulbs many times... I wouldn't say its necessarily quick and easy, and it does take a little work... whether its worth $300 is probably up to you...
Essentially you have to turn the wheel inwards, and then remove several screws towards the top of the splash guard to get...
