The door jambs and hinge areas etc all painted too. I’d wonder about the edges of the hood and areas around the firewall, and inside edges of the trunk lid. Color changing a car correctly and hitting all those little areas is a pricey proposition!
I had a similar symptom with one of those covers not aligning well and the timing being a little off. Double check the mechanisms underneath that lift and lower the tonneau. One of my rubber seals had popped off and was interfering with the movement of the mechanism.
What is the obstacle that they are trying to figure out? Shift control linkage replacement is a well documented job in their labor guide, it’s a bit involved but that’s not surprising.
There’s a removal tool J44298 and three spring loaded fasteners on the back of the steering wheel. Allegedly you insert the tool into a slot and pull the tool towards you (away from dashboard) to release the spring loaded fasteners. Looks like the tool is just two L shaped prongs hinged at the...
