    Montana Rocket Run 2014

You're gonna love driving in WY. 80mph speed limit on much of I-25. :) Traffic really sucked in DEN, tho. Even my Garmin GPS tried to get me to leave I-25 and take surface streets. Probably lost a good half hour in stop/go traffic. After DEN? Hammer down! On to Billings! C U Tuesday. Tim

    Montana Rocket Run 2014

Digits Rod, I'm considering leaving for "up Nort'" (as they say where I'm from) in the morning (Saturday). Do you have the phone #'s put together yet? For those of you heading for MT from other locales, be advised that we are having the Mother of all Monsoons, here in CO, and be sure to pack...

    Help! Intermittent Check engine light...

Coupla Thoughts We've kicked this around in the past. Seems like a few things were brought up as potential causes for this. 1) Leak in the intake system. Sometimes the clamps are not tightened enough, and air gets sucked in behind the MAF. This can cause the engine to run lean. 2)...

    Oil leak

There's an extensive thread on here about oil leaks. Lots of us have had them; seems NorthStar engines are notorious for seeping a little. In my case, it turned out to be leaky cam adjuster caps. If so in your case, that would NOT require going "into the engine". The caps are readily...

Help! New Purchaser wuold love some experience advice - major worries

NewV, first, congrat's on getting a really good model. Now, for a little advice. First, I'd locate a different Caddy dealer right away, and only consider one with a certified XLR tech on staff. (It takes an investment in special XLR training.) They'll hook up the Tech II and tell you tons of...

    2007 XLR V on ebay

First off, it's a nice looking car, and I hope the trunk fix turns out well. Second, it's disgusting that a material defect, in your case the trunk lid damage, was not mentioned in the eBay listing. I'd get back to eBay on it, since these things are (purportedly) guaranteed. At the...

    Montana Rocket Run 2014

Robert, I'm sorry you'll not be making it to the Rocket Run. Bummer. Doctors seem to spoil all the fun, yano. :chuckle BTW, I was in the light platinum XLR that pulled out of Red Noland, just as you pulled in a few days ago. I had a time crunch and was running late, or I'd have turned...

    Montana Rocket Run 2014

My Posting Seems to be Missing I sure don't know what happened to my earlier post, but it's MIA. Anyway, this is just to let Rod know that I will be participating in the Billings-based portion of the Rocket Run, and would like to order a man's XL shirt. When the Sunday evening Rocket...

    XLR Exhaust change.

FYI, you need to look deeper into that particular thread, 'cuz the parts list was updated at least twice, as I recall. The parts I referred to on that thread all worked perfectly, including the bolts. Tim (AKA BusaMan)

    Daily Chat

Custom Home Surprise I was watching a show yesterday about custom high-priced homes. (Well, I can dream, no?) They featured a home in the hills around San Diego that had been built to rotate continuously to give every room a great view. This intrigued me since it would have to address some...

    Help! Tires

I run your exact setup (same tires; same size), and completely agree w/ your assessment. All I would add is to mention how great these tires are in the mountains. The car turns like it's on rails. I'm completely happy with this setup. :rocker: Tim

    Help! 2005 XLR Navigation disk

Oh, man, and to have to deal with this on a Monday morning. I guess there are a lot of complex interactions on an XLR. Who woulda guessed? :chuckle:chuckle Tim

    Help! 2005 XLR Navigation disk

A Polished Disk is a Happy Disk... Welcome to the forum! :blinzel: There's a thread on here that talks about the occasional need to have the DVD nav' disk cleaned. Don't just try to wipe it, and never go around the disk. Best thought: take it to one of those places that rents DVD's and ask...

    Do you see XLRs??

2-Fer Last night, I saw a gorgeous '06-'08 red "V" with chrome wheels, as I was leaving the Old Spaghetti Factory in Rancho Mirage, CA. (Looked a lot like your car, Patrick...) Two guys in it. Told the driver "Great car!" and he said that he loved it. I was driving "Daphne", and he smiled...

    REPEAT: 2008 Cadillac XLR Conundrum

Rob, as a former dealer, I can say that this VIN indicates that it's a 2007 model, not a 2008. The "Year" digit is the 8th from the end. FWIW :dunno: Tim
