Did you get your Corsa Exhaust installed, if so how do you like it?

Sorry for the dark picture, but the new pipes not only look great, they really do sound just right for the Caddy (my opinion). Just enough burble to turn a few heads, but very quiet at cruising speeds. My mechanic that installed it has owned 'Vetts and Porches over the years and he said that this was the first Corsa he has installed. He just couldn't believe how quiet it was while cruising but gave enough noise when you punch it to let you know that it is a high performance car.

BTW, while he was installing the Corsa, i had him install the rear sway bar. Haven't driven it enough to know if it was worth it, but for $150, looked like an obvious upgrade.

Thanks for the response, it looks great. The cab noise is my concern, I did not want an annoying drone at cruising speed.

Yep love my too! And love that HP sound when you put the petal down!

The exhaust system looks great! Adding the sway bar at the same time was a no brainer! Where did you purchase the sway bar from?

Zeek,
Pasting a link to a post by DanF, post #10. He has all the parts listed and a link to gmpartscenter.com. I bought mine at www.gmpartsdirect.com for about $150. This is the sway bar for the V, but fits our car as they are the same frame. You need to look at the specs on the bolts that thread directly into the frame, though. The ones they sent me didn't fit, but were easy to find locally. The description was correct, but still didn't fit.

FYI, you need to look deeper into that particular thread, 'cuz the parts list was updated at least twice, as I recall. The parts I referred to on that thread all worked perfectly, including the bolts.

Thanks for the info Tim and the parts list! I will get mine ordered soon.

That's the big selling point with a Corsa system: NO DRONE! It's always mellow until you put your foot to it.

Interesting discussions.

Personally, I wonder what the V would sound like with a different exhaust. Some time ago, I did install the mild to wild switch (the control module is in the truck unlike the vette)

now the sound is nice, not quite " V8 ish" IMHO, and is subject to highway drone as mentioned above...and the ability to turn off is nice...

but, has any1 tried the V exhaust approach with something other than stock mufflers" that will work with the pneumatic valves?

The vacuum operated bypass valves are an integral part of the muffler system. Any aftermarket mufflers would need to be designed for "dual mode". FYI Billy Boat makes system.

As Phrede stated, Billy Boat makes a system for both the XLR-V's and Corvettes with the dual mode exhaust. It is their Fusion system. I installed it on my V and use it in conjunction with the Mild 2 Wild switch. It is louder than stock with the baffles closed and very loud with the baffles open. With the top up and baffles open, there is 'drone' at cruising speeds.

Johnxlrv, if you've heard Corsa, in my opinion the Billy Boat is WAY louder at all times, baffles open or closed. Get the baffles open & it sounds like a race car. Just something to think about if you're considering it - I prefer the Corsa volume level.
