i am 99% sure the volante will fit all model years 04 to 09 just be sure you get the correct one, either XLR base/platinum(aka 320hp), or XLR V (aka 443hp) if you search the site, i am sure someone has put one on the 04 base , which is what i assume you are asking about.

volant makes a CAI that is specific for the xlr and another for the xlr V some guys put together a similar setup with custom kits/ parts some even custom fitted all the way to the intake DIY cold air intake depends on your preference , amount of effort you want to put in... my money would go...

guys, yes i understand the cable and grommets have nothing to do with the tiptronic activation or shifting +/- i was implying that maybe when my cable or grommets does go bad, that would be an opportune time to fix the tiptronic. advising TJ of my plan of when to deal with the tiptronic repair

btw, the vinyl that is shrunken/ melted , almost looks like it was burned with a heat gun, and is hard as a rock. not sure i can soften or stretch it at all...

built into the shifter is a switch that tells the transmission it is in manual mode. if the switch is broken nothing happens when you pull the lever to the left, or push it + and - only fix is to replace the whole shifter. or take it out and see if you can glue the switch lever or whatever back...
