    Coolant leak

My tee fell apart when touched. Mine was located just to the driver's side and just rearward of the radiator, clipped to the radiator trim. I had, as LongTall mentioned, two options. Because I was unable to locally obtain a proper 3/8x1/4x3/8 tee, I momentarily gave up and ordered a replacement...

    Help! front shocks

I bought the AC Delco stock replacements from Rock Auto. In my other rides, which are completely different Mitsubishi Monteros, some guys use Bilsteins, which happen to be the suggested non-MagRide replacement brand. They make a great shock, too. I just happened to want to experience what the...

Installed Volant "Cool Air" Intake - 2004 XLR

I ended up clocking about 4,000 miles in three weeks since the Volant went on, traveling from home base outside Phoenix to Peoria, IL, on to Des Moines, IA, back home briefly, then over to Los Angeles and back. In Albuquerque, I ran into heavy rain. No problems at all with the intake. John B.

Man, that's a pretty steep price for a non-V model. I got mine, added tires of my choice, replaced the MagRide shocks, added a rear sway bar, Volant intake, WindRestrictor, replaced one wheel and got it's paint detailed and "sealed" and I'm still under $20K. But mine had more miles, 84K, now...

    Cigar lighter fuse

I'd A) Check all the fuses, then B) try replacing the socket and the lighter element. I've seen the sockets burn out on other vehicles from too many amps being drawn through the circuit. John B. Sent from my moto g(7) supra using Tapatalk

Installed Volant "Cool Air" Intake - 2004 XLR

I've put over 1500 miles on during my current road trip. In all highway driving, I averaged 26.7 mph, per the DIC. I did get a check engine light, but it turned out to be P0455 and was due to a bad gas cap. I reset it after I got a new cap from NAPA with my El cheapo Harbor Freight code reader...

Installed Volant "Cool Air" Intake - 2004 XLR

Not sure why, but the Volant cross reference for our cars excludes the 2004 model year. Rest assured, it fits. I installed mine last night and everything fits and functions as advertised. First take-away: Get on the gas and the thing is loud, in a very good way. I can't say for sure what it's...

djmoneymike, see post #6 in this thread for someone local to inspect the car. Not sure about anyone back where the car is at. I'd at least get a video from the seller showing that the tail and brake lights are fully functional. John B.

    Help! Low beam light out

I got new bulbs from Amazon. Be sure to buy genuine Philips bulbs. There are a lot of cheap fakes out there. I think mine were around $40 each. John B. Sent from my moto g(7) supra using Tapatalk

New Blurtooth & 3.5mm Input Jack Interface for the XLR's

Apparently I'm jumping to conclusions I should not have. Upon a cursory examination, I do not have XM and so cannot interface this unit. Boy do I feel dumb... Sent from my moto g(7) supra using Tapatalk

LED running lights installed in my headlights.

That's a good idea, counting the flashes. I'll try to get to that tonight. John B.

LED running lights installed in my headlights.

My lenses are so "melty" inside where the stock bulb was at that a switchback bulb probably would not look good in white in DRL mode. The burned plastic makes it work well for amber, however. My bulbs came from superbrightleds.com and I just picked it off their recommendations after using their...

LED running lights installed in my headlights.

I used LED bulbs and I did not need resistors as they do not hyperflash. Apparently all the washers stayed in place. And I just used single color bulbs. John B.

LED running lights installed in my headlights.

I just finished mine up last night. To get the housings out, turn the wheels in on the side you want to access. Remove the three plastic trim retainers from the fender liner edge in front of the tire. Remove three downward-facing 10mm nuts that fasten the headlights to the body. They should...

    Dyno results on 2006 XLR

I meant the "passing gear" part. As though there is such a thing. I've heard the expression many times. John B.

Roof motor exchange and slow operation

Unless the motor sounds slow, I'd suspect the hydraulic system. More likely might be the declining pressure in the system due to wear in the pump or blockage in lines. You might try a boat repair company as they often deal with similar systems for tilting and trimming engines and drive units...
