Welcome to my world. If you're needing to replace the EBCM, you can find them on ebay. or have yours rebuilt. Course, could be a myriad of other problems as well, down to a sensor wire come loose
The installation would still be pretty much the same. It should work with just about any aftermarket unit you would want. What would be pretty cool if the Maestro unit was compatible with the XLR and the aftermarket units. I've never seen one installed and I never had the courage to experiment...
There's a fairly large learning curve to using it, but it proved invaluable to me. Every time I relearned the top I saved at least 150$ at the dealer. Adding keys to the car is much easier..
