I got the hinge off eBay, took it to a local body shop and they installed it. If you've never done one, don't try to do it yourself. The geometry gets messed up and you'll never close the door properly

That's a BS quote. It's all done using the same screen on the tool for both. If you do this, just do the relearn.

I would start by pulling the fascia out, then pull out the radio/cd unit to check for any loose connections. A TECH II MIGHT be useful in tracing down a fault somewhere.

You need access to a TECH II tool and perform a top relearn. That's happened to me several times. That's my guess

If you're really serious, get a TECH II clone. I got mine for around 400$ including the huge case. Relearn the top 3 times and you've got your money back compared with the dealer charges. And that's if you find a dealer that has someone that knows about the XLR
