    News: Clunk when down shifting

Well, I have one that I haven't seen on here or maybe missed. When downshifting or hanging around 1st & 2nd gear in stop & go traffic something clunks. I believe it's the tranny but could be the computer, the universal, axle, the rear end or a wheel bearing. Dealer can't find what it is so they...

Site Update: T/C going off for no reason (found one reason)

T/C light Latest find..........Steering wheel center sensor, whatever that is, was bad. Cant believe it took 5 years to figure this out. In the beginning on the 04 it was the gas cap that was changed out on many cars.;)

    Help! starting this project

I guess this must be what they call a labor of love. I remember Montana Rod when he took on an XLR wreck and had to give him props for all his efforts. We will help you keep the enthusiasm going.

HRE 543R: Testing clearances on 2007 XLR

For the record Last time I put new tires on I went to Dunlop sticky tires 275x35 on 20" rims all around. (Direz, D2 101, Digi Tyre, what ever that all means) Just Tires said they wouldn't hit. Honk, wrong answer. Fronts cleared fine but on a trip to FL the rears tore holes in the inner liners...

    Do you see XLRs??

Great price That's what I like to see, someone not afraid to put a price on it and stick to it. You wouldn't want to know what my price is for my 06-V or you would die laughing. Hey I don't have to sell and they will pay if they want it. I already have been offered $48,000 a month ago and have...

    Help! Loose shift knob

You have way to much time & money on your hands and I think the altitude in the high desert is starting to effect you. Come down off that hill and get some sea breezes, it will cure you in no time.

    recover seats

seat amd door pamels My fake suede inserts on my 06-V were starting to look seedy so a found a guy in Santa Ana, CA about 10 miles away that took the seats out, removed the suede and installed perforated black leather inserts in seats a door panels with red piping. It gave it a much sportier...

    Adaptive Cruise Control

No, not weird at all, unless there are two of us that are weird. I used to do the same thing to keep the space closed up.

    Help! Loose shift knob

BTW, I don't drink coffee but love ice cold water. It was hot to the point that I had to get as close to the door as I could along with my water bottle and move my right leg over and turn on the ACC going from SO CAL to NYC & back. My companion had to do the same thing. That's when I decided to...

tire pressure with reg tires ....not run flat

PSI Can't ever remembering an article so well written, especially the graphics. NASCAR breaks down different parts of a car every once in a while to show how it works, sure wish they would call it Nitrogen instead of air. With Nitrogen the biggest contributor to making up air, I will call the...

    Adaptive Cruise Control

ACC It's really not hard to do, as long as you cover the brake pedal because when it kicks off, and it does kick off, you have to stop tire rotation. When I had my 04 I never used it in heavy traffic because everybody would keep jumping into the space in front of me which would make my ACC...

tire pressure with reg tires ....not run flat

Tire PSI You say race cars? I watch a lot of NHRA drags and NASCAR and every time that they mention tire pressure it's always air they take out or put in, and it's usually very little, but never mention Nitrogen. :dunno:

    Help! Loose shift knob

Has anyone had any trouble with the shift knob getting loose? It might only be 1/8 inch slop in it but I know there is an allen screw inside that needs to be tightened. My 04 was loose back in 05 and I managed to pop either the center off or side pieces and I forget which and don't want to...
