meeting in Kansas Cubby, Let me know where you guys will be staying in Kansas. I'll try to meet up with you there and join the caravan for the final leg into Colorado Springs. I'll be driving alone as Lynda will have to fly into Colorado Springs from a business meeting up north. Jack

    XLR Clinics while in Colorado

Hi! I'm from the old school of, "If it isn't broke - don't fix it". Because of that and the fear of messing something up, I have never gone through the routine of manually putting the top up or down. Howeveeeer, I would be a lot more confident if I could see how it's done. (Being a typical male...

    Optima Battery

Hi! I have the red top. The battery fits nicely and comes with hold down adapters that keep it in place. The original OEM foam surround fits around it also. Again, the only problem is the height. I had to bend the the hot lead wire end to get it to work. It is a very minor and evident when you...

    Optima Battery

Hi! I put one in my V and the only real problem is the length of the factory hot lead being a bit short. I think I just had to put a new bend in the lead to get it to work. You will also have to work out the factory hold down and I forget what I did but it is not a big deal. My wife has the car...

How can I remove label glue residue from visor

Thanks for all the input. I will try something. I'm not sure what yet. The heat from a heat gun will be a lot quicker than a hair dryer although potentially a lot more damaging. I will sneak up on it so as to not create an additional non repairable problem. Little steps first. I will keep this...

How can I remove label glue residue from visor

Hi All! I hate those seat belt warning stickers on the visors of our cars. So, i pulled my drivers side off the visor. It is not near as intrusive now but there is some glue residue left. Anyone have a good way to remove the residue without damaging the visor fabric? Jack

    Weatherstrip maintenance

Hi! I believe dielectric does not conduct electricity, thus the use on spark plug boots to seal out moisture and prevent corrosion. Jack

    New wheels and tires installed

Just a note on the tire rubbing. I have stock wheels and tires on an 06 V. My wife an I pack a lot of stuff for our week long get aways. We go to the North Georgia and North Carolina mountains. Packed or not, when I get on the twisty mountain roads, I can't help but drive hard around corners...

    Help! Wheel Spacer???

Hi! I have 3/16 spacers on the front of my XLR-V. I do not have balance problems I purchased cnc machined spacers after being warned that low cost stamped spacers could cause an imbalance problem. Also, to make darn sure there would be no problems, I had the wheels balanced on the car. We have a...

    Rear swaybar parts list '04-'09

Bruce, I have a question for you and also Craig at D3. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I have a V and I’m considering a stiffer set of sway bars. I’m considering the Corvette ZO6 bars which I can get for around $200.00 as take offs or D3’s...

    Rubber moldings; discoloration & decomp.

Hi! Thought I'd add my 2 cents to the comments on this thread. I use "Meguire's Mirror Glaze Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner and Conditioner #40". I have used it for years on my 70 and 71 Pontiac Firebirds. It does a great job, It does not leave that wet greasy look you get from Armour All. It has kept...
