    Help! Check engine light

Is it the general consensus then, that 2006 and up models have ECM's that can be easily accessed and reflashed by a competent and experienced mechanic? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Help! Check engine light

Is the CEL on continuously? I have a Corsa kit and a Volant CAI which throws an occasional code, but the CEL goes out after two or three ignition cycles and doesn't return for weeks. I do believe that reprogramming the ECM would cure the problem, but I do not know anything about the third party...

    Help! Check engine light

Yeah...that's a tough commute. My wife has the 118-5-170-134 commute which is all of 13 miles that she can generally accomplish in under 20 minutes depending on red lights. I met Dave in our local Trader Joe's and we started talking about our "V's". Said his mom used to drive it but when it...

    Help! Check engine light

The dealership I've had the most Success with is Parkway Cadillac in Valencia. But my local guy is Dave at 60 Minute Tune here in Granada Hills. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Help! Check engine light

Unfortunately I've had little luck "bonding" with the service staff at the three local dealerships here in my little corner of the San Fernando Valley. I did bring it to the dealer when the pump/module for the top needed to be replaced. But you are right in that I am indeed fortunate to have a...

    Help! Check engine light

How would you possibly know if a dealership really has a "certified XLR tech" anyway? What credentials would you ask for? Would you just take their word for it? I have a local mechanic who is ASE certified, has two former GM technicians on staff (one from a Cadillac dealer that closed) and...

    Help! Emergency Brake

Hold the parking break pedal down with one hand as you trigger the manual release with the other or you hand will get clobbered by the pedal when that tension is released. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Help! Help. Gas door will not open

If it's not opening with the emergency release cable, it's not an electrical problem. The latch is somehow jammed. Have you tried to tap it and see if it pops open? It may just be a bit sticky. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Locking lugs

Are you sure it's the key isn't tucked down in the bottom of one of the map pockets? And, are you saying that in the entire time you've owned it you haven't had the need to remove a wheel? I think a wheel/tire dealer like Discount Tires or Costco might be able to help you. Sent from my iPhone...

    Help! Check engine light

It could also be a bad or loose connection at the oxygen sensor. That just happened on my 2014 Jeep Wrangler. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hope you picked up a good aftermarket warranty. It's not cheap, but mine has paid out almost 3x what I paid for it. Shocks alone were almost $5K! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hello to my fellow XLR owners

Yeah I wouldn't put ANYTHING in my crankcase besides Mobile 1. Generally I avoid all the snake-oil stuff, but I've been getting just a touch of rough-idle at cold start and based on what I've read this may just do the trick. We'll see. :spin:

Hello to my fellow XLR owners

Has anyone used Royal Purple Max-Clean Fuel System Cleaner and Stabilizer? It's a buck more on Amazon than Techron but has slightly better overall feedback. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    'Selfies' with your XLR

My V has yet to break 20mpg under my ownership as it averages 18.6-19 most of the time. That being the case it still does better than my '14!Jeep Wrangler or my '13 Lincoln MKT! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hello to the XLR family

Welcome! These are great cars but you'll be happy you got the warranty, trust me. I wish I had room in my garage for a '69 Firebird. [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Do you see XLRs??

A friend who works at an LA studio sent this to me. Very rare color for a V. He thinks it belongs to someone on the "Ray Donovan" crew. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
