My gas door will not open either from the switch in the car or the emergency release pull tab in the trunk. Maybe it's only coincidence but I haven't opened the fuel door since I replaced my dead battery. Any help is appreciated

If it's not opening with the emergency release cable, it's not an electrical problem. The latch is somehow jammed. Have you tried to tap it and see if it pops open? It may just be a bit sticky.

I had the plastic attaching cable that holds the cap to the car get caught between the door and the body one time. Kept it from opening of course. A little careful prying pressure opened it without a scratch.

I had the same problem once....prying open with a popsicle stick got it open and I then snipped off that attaching plastic strap. No more problems from that thing.....

Thanks for the help. I pried it open with a plastic knife which I will keep in the console from now on.
