Oil Leaks....... and what next.....
I had a small drip last year and when we got to the source, it was those camshaft actuator covers. It seems the oil is "wicking" up and along the wrapping of a cable that passes through there. They estimated that I was looking at $1500 to get this fixed so...
I need to jack my baby up and change out a grille part. Where is the safest place to put the jack to get the car up to where I can put my ramps under the wheels.......too low to drive it up.
Suggestions? Kenn:confused:
:confused: Will other year's lower grill pieces fit the '05? Mine is black and missing a couple of bits due to stones etc from the highway. The newer years have silver or chrome ones that might look much better. Does anybody have a part number to share?
Thanks
I cannot understand why they stuck those horrible safety warning stickers on the sunvisors of my XLR. I have peeled one off and have almost removed the sticky glue left behind. Does anyone have a suggestion for the best product to use to remove all of the residue?
A little leaky but so far no bills....
I found a small amount of oil on the floor and when I took it into the dealer they located the problem as oil "wicking" up an electrical wire through the cam shaft actuator. For only $1200 est. they thought they could fix it up for me. The tech thought...
All fixed....thanks folks.
It's funny....I was thinking that the reset must be something like holding the button down for a few seconds so I did it before you gave me the answer and voila.....all good. You guys probably saved me a $110 shop charge and the inconvenience of going to the dealer...
Window adjustment trick.
Wow, this is timely.....I just replaced my battery and the only thing not working right is the little window adjustment when you open and close the door. How do you reset the windows? Please advise if you can . Thanks so much.
One more thing..... I leave...
moisture is the likely suspect for me too...
I just switched out the battery today on my own. It was overdue actually, but I have had issues with false flat tire warnings, and a few other electrical items too. When you open the trunk lid on a rainy day, the water just flows in......really...
Thanks for the tip. WD-40 is mostly "fish oil" when you get right down to it. I'll look into the lithium spray idea once I get the thing popped out and moving again. I use lithium grease on some other equipment that I own.
The storage compartment that is between the seatbacks has this push button, then twist, opening mechanism. When I push the button, there is no pop out! It was sticky in the past, but I do not want to damage the lock. It is possible to pry it open by forcing the door to one side or the other...
I read in one of the threads that the keyfob is supposed to close the trunk lid as well as open it. I can open mine, but there is no action to close it when I press it once open. What is "normal?"
locked up. Computer problem?
Twice I have had the situation where the entire starting sequence seems to go alien..... Open the door, climb in, no window shift slightly down. Motor starts on second try but sequence of messages to service various components. Shifter is locked and won't...
