What's your thoughts on XLR prices if the a 2021 XLR is released

Morning (again), :) Hard to say. I'd guess the prices would drop initially what with people wanting 'the latest-greatest' only to rise afterwards with the rarity and obscurity. I sort of have the feeling a 2021 or beyond XLR won't really happen though. I'd be surprised. The XLR was not a great...

    Brake package identification

Morning, Right side rear floor of the trunk, there's a cubbyhole lid and if you open it and look on the underside of that lid, you should find your RPO code sticker. Good plan might be, to take a picture of it for safe keeping and easy reference. I don't believe 2004 and 2005 (pre 'V') model...

    XLR TARGA CONVERSION COMPLETE

Very cool indeed! (y) My comment would be the same as Richard's: I think it might look more 'complete' with some piece between the rear pillars. Maybe I'm just being picky and perhaps because of the angle of the picture. I wonder if you got another chunk of roof, if that piece could be...

For Sale: Hart drilled & slotted rotor set with pads, new. XLR excluding V. Various Corvettes too.

Sounds great, thanks. You could just check rotors at say, RockAuto. You should see the same <whatever brand> and it'll be available for all years base XLRs and a heap of Corvettes as well. I often have nearly all the couriers here: FedEx, UPS, Purolator, Canada Post and even Canpar now and...

For Sale: Hart drilled & slotted rotor set with pads, new. XLR excluding V. Various Corvettes too.

Same fit / identical. I do believe regardless of the year, just as long as it's not any 'V' model which of course an '05 is not. Hart's eBay listing is far from perfect so far as compatible models go. HTH! Gord :thumbsup

For Sale: Hart drilled & slotted rotor set with pads, new. XLR excluding V. Various Corvettes too.

For Sale: Hart drilled & slotted rotor set with pads, new. XLR excluding V. Hi all, I have this set kicking around and I'm really tired of moving them about. I believe it is same set as this from eBay: [FRONT+REAR KIT]Platinum Hart -*DRILL & SLOT* Brake Rotors +CERAMIC Pads- 1380 | eBay...

    Just looking for an explanation???

Howdy! The finned aluminum module ( 10348979 ) is the suspension module. It just happens to live in the same bucket. The roof / pump module ( 10317458 ) is the plastic boxed one. Sorry, I don't have an immediate answer for any spare connector though I don't recall that there's anything in the...

    Oil leak survey

Hi Jerry, I just changed my oil pan: it wasn't leaking, just that it had been dragged along the ground one too many times for my taste. I had the majority of the front suspension off at the time so I supported the engine and took down the subframe = no need to remove the engine. I believe in...

New OEM Closeout Position Sensor 19210515

Quite the price... which sadly leads me to less than ideal thoughts and words, so I'll keep it as tidy as I can... : You're #$%!! disgusting. :nono:

Help! Dec 13 2020 11.00am XLR Stuck in Gear Hallandale Beach Florida at the Gas Station...lol Not funny but help please

Hi / bonjour Martin, I did a google search and it looks like the most common issue is a broken shift cable. :( 1) Does the shifter feel loose? Apparently that's the tell-tale sign. 2) You could *carefully* reach up under the car from the rear. Left side of the transmission, you should be...

    Picking up XLR

Right on! Don't forget to inspect that cubby hole left side of the trunk floor under the carpet. It houses critical modules along with the hydraulic pump for all the roof happenings. Issues with basically any year have been water ingress. That messing up pump electrics or the modules. Simple to...

    Interior Carbon Fiber Wrap

Hi Tom, When I bought my XLR, one of its previous owners had plastered absolutely every interior panel you could think of with woodgrain shtuff. :( It was like driving a log cabin! Hours and hours of fake wood removal sort of explained to me just why: lots of little dents in the beer-can...

Looking for : 2006 XLR Front Grill or Emblem Support or the whole thing.

That sort of puzzled me momentarily... Hallandale Beach and a 514 area code? Hey, I know that area code! LOL I'll send you a text as I do have what you need and it's just collecting dust. Gord :thumbsup

Help! 07 XLR-V Want to Up Grade Brakes

Howdy, Fronts for all XLRs / XLR-Vs are twin-piston, single side. Rear: single piston, single side of course. Yes, that 'kit' is a bolt-on and would work but I would strongly recommend you do your homework regarding buying the parts here and there and assembling a kit yourself. Those...

    Question For Cadillac XLR Historians

Ah, outstanding! (As long as you didn't have to donate an organ). I'm sure you'll be really happy to have it. It really is a moment in history type book, so perhaps as in my case...a definite keeper! Gord :)

    Question For Cadillac XLR Historians

Hi Rob, If you happen to keep a 'real' library, "Cadillac XLR by John McCormick" is a lovely book to have. Lots of history info and some really, really, amazing pictures too. Problem is, it tends to be expensive... having just checked eBay, least costly one was USD135. :( If you have the...

Cabin Air Filter Installation Faults and Issues

Genuine GM - AC Delco. This is how it's supposed to be. I also tried one of the Fram brand filters, and while it worked, you have to 'work' (pre-bend) both sides prior to installation. I'd give Fram a 6/10 for it as once bent, it can actually be installed though nothing like the genuine GM.

Thought I’d share - learned how to delete PM’s on new site

Not bad...just different, and with a fairly normal learning curve imho. ;) Rob (if you happen to read this), perhaps a forum could be added for test posts? Maybe a sandbox where people can poke around with how things work and then run a cron task to dump it say, once a week? And maybe if...
