Long Tube Headers for XLR's
Sorry for the delayed response. Don't waste your money. Since I put out my request in early January 2016 to determine interest in long tube headers for XLR-V and 2007-2009 XLR's, Ive received no interest. Therefore, I'm not pursuing manufacture of the headers...
Corsa changeover from a XLR to a XLR-V
I explained this along with pictures in a response that I made to another thread circa Sept. - Oct. 2014. I don't know how to find it but I'm sure that if you search you will do better than I.
Anyway, I see my thread to determine interest in XLR...
One Step at a Time
I have a 2006 XLR-V. The prototype headers would be built off of my car. The stock exhaust manifold part numbers for all the XLR-V's and all 2007 - 2009 XLR's are identical. Therefore, I feel confident the headers would fit these vehicles. The 2004 - 2006 XLR's have a...
I am considering having a manufacturer build headers with high flow CAT’s so I can make them available to interested XLR and XLR-V owners. I think I could sell them for about $1,895. If I decide to pursue this, I will need to have the headers with high flow CAT’s built in sets of 10 minimum...
The Other Option - Manufacture and Sell XLR Headers Myself
I don't know why, but nitrous oxide just doesn't appeal to me. I don't think I want to go that route. I have a 2006 XLR-V with a 3" Spectre "Y" tube that I built. (I will start a thread on how I built the Spectre in case anyone is...
Are The Headers Worth The Cost?
Richard, I've followed this thread with interest for about a year now hoping to learn whether or not putting long tube headers on my XLR-V would be worth the cost and effort. I've been waiting to see what your dyno results showed for RWHP boost due to installing...
 My driver information center (DIC) kept showing a service Stabilitrac message on my 2006 XLR-V. I knew the ride height was uneven because the right rear of my car was ¾” lower than the left rear. I took it to a dealer and they couldn’t turn the trim height adjusting bolts on my rear...
Thanks for your write up?
I really appreciate your sharing this information with us other "V" owners. Your write up has been a Godsend for me. I have wanted to put a header exhaust on my 2006 XLR-V for quite a while but wasn't sure such an animal even existed. I e-mailed D3 but they never...
GPS with Bluetooth for XLR
Garmin makes several GPS units that have Bluetooth capability. I have a Garmin NUVI 265W GPS that has Bluetooth capabilities where I can use it for hands free cell phone use. Go on eBay or Amazon.com where the cost is very reasonable.
XLR-V exhaust on a 2005 XLR
Hi DevilDog,
I sold these on e-bay several weeks ago. Thanks for your interest.
You would encounter two problems. First you would most likely need to fabricate a new hanger bracket for the rear of the "H" pipe from a XLR-V. Shown below are the exhaust systems...
Pictured is the air intake assembly from my 2006 XLR-V. It is in very good condition, all parts are included except there is one rubber bushing missing from an air box mount as shown in the pictures. The air filters are in usable condition. No MAF sensor is included.” I think this assembly...
A solution to the grommet problem
9/30/2014 Update:
I went ahead and ordered the current carpet retainers (grommets) from GMpartsdirect.com. Part No. 19167704. The hole is too large as someone responding to my post stated. Therefore, I took the good retainer from the cover of the...
Pictured below is the OEM cat back exhaust system from my 2006 XLR-V. It is in very good condition, both in appearance and function. The system includes the intermediate pipe, (H pipe), and both left and right mufflers. The vacuum actuated muffler baffles open under aggressive acceleration...
Thanks for the information
I needed a pair of hood lift supports (struts) for my 2006 XLR-V and saw this thread. This forum has a wealth of information on it and I'm just learning my way around it. I just ordered a pair of the SG130099 hood lift supports from Rock Auto. Cost $56.81 incl...
I need a round plastic grommet with a hole in the center, also called a retainer, that goes into the stock XLR carpet floor mat. This grommet has a top half and a bottom half and clamps together through the hole in the carpet mat. I don't need the retaining post that mounts into the floor of...
D3 stage 2?
Just read your comments about D3 modifications. Thanks for the valuable info. I have a 2006 XLR-V with a Volant CAI & Corsa exhaust. My question is how much performance will the D3 stage 2 "Y" manifold add to the engine? Your thoughts. by the way, what did you do to your V to...
Update to my XLR aspirations
First of all, thanks to everyone for their comments and encouragement on my dreams of making a beast out of my 2006 XLR. After talking to Alex at PCM Performance, he didn't feel comfortable reprogramming my ECM for the modifications that I wanted to make to the 4.6...
