Hi CC, long time no chat
Yep, she gave up the ghost, no questions asked... The only indication I got was of course an hour away from home, pulling out of a parking lot & someone motioned to me to get my attention... She left a big o'l puddle of coolant underneath her. I was able to...
Just a general question... My coolant/water pump just went out on me and had to get it replaced. Just kinda curious what the heck could have caused that to happen or is it somewhat of a common thing? My XLR is an 07 and just under 20k miles on it. I'm guessing maybe 'age', or could it have to do...
Wondering if any of you have purchased a wind restrictor for your XLR on-line, through KING PENN? When I was looking at them last year, someone in this forum gave me some good advice on choosing which type, etc., to go with. I'm now ready to buy one, but dummy me never saved the info I was...
 Thanks XLRJIM & XLRLIST01- Makes sense... I have read also that the sensor could need a cleaning/dusting off. If true, that would make sense, as it's very dusty here in the desert. Trust me, I don't drive my XLR in these storms, but when we get our monsoon/dust storms, those traveling...
Two years later...
Well, here I am adding to this thread just about two years later... I pretty much have the same problem and it's almost humorous, as I live in Phoenix and we are now approaching July – As we are now dealing with 110° to 113° temperatures, my XLR is telling me the outside...
Thanks everyone! I wound up finding one through the XLR club I belong to - a Corvette & XLR parts specialist, Shaun Carter, with SMC Performance. Was able to get it for $225.

David B., I was aware of that option, but it was only available as a...
Whops- that would be helpful!
The VIN # 1G6YV36A075601415
The part number needed is #10351952
Seems as though this is the only knob that is harder to find and most expensive! All the other ones run between $80 - $200.
I did find it at GM Parts Direct for $289.12, but they have a 'S & H and...
Thanks for your reply!
GM Parts Direct was one of the 1st places I checked, as I've used them before and have always had good luck... However, I am disappointed with them now!
Are ya sitting down? Okay, list price on this part/shift knob (part # 10351952) is $479.04. GM Parts Direct offered me...
Hey, mtrocket- not sure if you can help on this one, but it's worth asking, just in case :)
I noticed a small hairline crack in the wood (dark eucalyptus color) of my shifter knob. I don't even want to consider having it repaired- I want it replaced. My certified XLR mechanic had trouble...
I noticed a small hairline crack in the wood (dark eucalyptus color) of my shifter knob. I don't even want to consider having it repaired- I want it replaced. My certified XLR mechanic had trouble locating a new one (GM/OEM) in the color I need... He did find one, but it's about $500. We both...
I wound up taking the XLR to my regular & trusted mechanic (XLR Certified), as I knew he'd be able to identify for sure which of the 3 pieces I need. Turns out, the center piece is OK, the left wing is cracked/torn and he suggested replacing the right wing while we're at it, as it has some...
pure zen, good call and thank you! I think I will have Danny take a look and see what exactly needs to be replaced. He has been a Godsend since I found him and I know my XLR would appreciate him figuring things out, rather than me- LOL!
lextoy, thank you so much for your research & responses! Very helpful, as I had no clue about the sections/pieces and the clips either! Very kind of you for all the info!
Feel a little silly here, but I need to order a part and have no idea what the name of it is... It's the plastic piece that goes under the center front-end of the car that will scrape a parking stone, if you've pulled too far forward over it.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions on who/where to...
It's definitely a duplicate entry with a typo/error.
Initially, it was entered as 'XLRV' and then entered correctly as 'XLR'.
Somehow, the XLRV entry was never omitted.
If you notice, the 4th & 5th digits of the VIN are representing an XLR Roadster, not XLRV.
Also, the 8th digit in the VIN is...
Definitely something I'm going to do myself, next time it needs to be replaced! Cadillac's service dept. charged $40.02 for the filter (OEM 15861929) and $139.95 TO PUT IT IN! Really? Aye, aye, aye!
<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:OfficeDocumentSettings> <o:AllowPNG/> </o:OfficeDocumentSettings> </xml><![endif]-->Thanks for the concern & support! I actually had some 'GOOD' come out of Friday's meeting with the Service Manager. My arrival and request to see him was not expected by him...
