My XLR/V(s)
2007 Raven Black
I noticed a small hairline crack in the wood (dark eucalyptus color) of my shifter knob. I don't even want to consider having it repaired- I want it replaced. My certified XLR mechanic had trouble locating a new one (GM/OEM) in the color I need... He did find one, but it's about $500. We both looked at each other and said, "Hell No!" :(
I have seen them out there, for much less (a little under $100), but not the one I need. My XLR is a 2007 and my wood trim is dark eucalyptus. Any thoughts, ideas, etc., please send them my way. If I 'have' to pay $500 then, so be it, but don't want to, if I don't have to! Thanks.

I ordered one for my '06 V a few years ago from gmpartsdirect.com and I know it wasn't $500.00 You'll have to give them your VIN # and they will confirm the correct part number for ordering. Give them a try.

Thanks for your reply!
GM Parts Direct was one of the 1st places I checked, as I've used them before and have always had good luck... However, I am disappointed with them now!
Are ya sitting down? Okay, list price on this part/shift knob (part # 10351952) is $479.04. GM Parts Direct offered me a 40% savings, where my cost would be $289.12. That was THE LOWEST price I found anywhere on the internet... Then, when it came down to checking out/paying the bill, all of a sudden, I see the grand total and it's $358.51... Their 'Shipping & Processing & Handling' fee is $69.39! Mind you, this is a damn SHIFT KNOB, that is close to a pear in size and probably weighs about the same as a pear, too! Leads me to believe this is more so the PROCESSING fee... I have lost so much respect for them, I can't even begin to tell you! Upon doing extensive price shopping all afternoon today, I came across a few other places that do the same thing... Not near as bad, but bad enough- like $17 to $35. Those culprits are: Nalley GMC, GM Wholesale Direct & GM Parts East. I've found a few that are much more reasonable, however I need to do my homework first... Need to make sure these companies are legit.
Again, I appreciate your response :thumbsup

Thanks everyone! I wound up finding one through the XLR club I belong to - a Corvette & XLR parts specialist, Shaun Carter, with SMC Performance. Was able to get it for $225.

www.smcperformance.com
www.smcautoparts.com

David B., I was aware of that option, but it was only available as a whole, which was okay since I got it for much less $.
Mtrocket, thanks for the offer!
