Oh I really did, but after six + years with virtually no problems I decided it was time for a change.
My new ZL/1 lets me haul all my stuff to the beach with the top down.

Still here, but my XLR has moved on.
When all was said and done, it was a faulty thermostat that was replaced and the symptom never recurred.

Well, I owned my 2006 XLRV for six and a half blissful years, six of those the car was covered by a comprehensive, no deductible warranty. The last 6 months I realized I was not enjoying it but rather living in abject terror that something was going to break.
I sold it, rather unexpectedly, to...
Congratulations!! Lovely part of the world, Arlington is. Although not a likely place for year-round convertibles! I lived in Redmond for 12 years. Only 8 months until you can drop the top!!

05 Grand Dad- I think the picture he posted was in reference to a V-Series he saw for sale in Seattle but didn’t purchase.

Welcome! You’ll find a lot of great wisdom and experience here.
This is just me, but I wouldn’t buy one of these without:
1) a reasonably comprehensive and documented service history
2) a thorough inspection by a qualified GM Tech and
3) a really good used car warranty.

I had the same thing done at 48k. The radiator core began to delaminate from the shell so they replace it under warranty.

Welcome to the forum and congratulatuions on your acquision. If your mats have a little clear plastic loop sewn into the back of them they are probably factory and should have a little cap that pops over them to hold them down. I ordered new Lloyds Mats when I got my 2006 V Series and it came...
They made chrome wheels for the XLR-V from 2007-09, but they weren’t offered for 2006.
I used LA Chrome Exchange in Commerce CA to trade our my OEM painted wheels with chromed wheels on my ‘06 V. I even purchased an extra wheel so I have a spare ready to go in my garage.
One advantage of...
Welcome! Where in WA are you from? I lived in Redmond for 12 years prior to making my way down here to SoCal.
I caught a terminal case of “XLR-itis” during a stint as a sales consultant at Brotherton Cadillac in Renton.
Anyway, enjoy your new ride!

It’s not so much the mileage as the time and heat that takes a toll on the seals.
While they can be replaced with aftermarket units the stock magnet shocks are out there. My warranty picked up OEM replacements at $5,800 for all 4 installed.

I had the same issue when I first got my XLR. The error is fatal according to the dealer. Since it was under warranty I opted to have them replace it with an NOS unit.
But if you’re paying out of pocket and plan to keep the car it might be worth your time to consider upgrading to a good...
No. That is not normal. Have you checked to see if your shocks are leaking? I had all 4 of mine replaced last year and it’s made all the difference.

I didn’t see this thread until today. Here’s my story in a nutshell.
In 2003-4 I spent a year selling Cadillacs in Seattle at the dealership I had been leasing from for several years. I had been a Cadillac owner/lessee for basically my whole life. From that first 1967 Fleetwood 60
