No dont do that it would allow anyone to drive off with your XLR when parked anywhere, my wife and I easily got into the habit of unlatching the hood and hitting the unlock twice and opening the hood in the garage, an open hood lets heat out and slows the deterioration of rubber and plastic parts.
I just push the unlock button twice as i walk away from the car and alarm is disabled and locks also until next ignition cycle.
This has worked for me for years.

XLR Tech?
Who is the XLR Tech here in Arizona? I have a low mileage 06 that's had very little issues but its not a bad idea to know a good reputable tech for repairs. I live in Wickenburg and there is one shop that the owner works on Corvettes but know very little about XLR's. Would you please...
Dont use a charger to maintain a battery as it charges at a much higher rate than a battery tender and will not shutoff when fully charged and keep it monitored at correct level.
Battery chargers left un attended for longer intervals have caused battery fires, tenders have not.
Battery tenders are usually 2-3 amps i use a 2A on all my vehicles and my oldest battery is 6 years old and has good health, my personal best longevity was my 2001 Corvette of 8 years 7 months.
Better look at the C5-6-7 & XLR they all have a frame, a sub frame is used on a unibody such as the C4 Corvette and all FWD vehicles including all years of the Camaro.
Also if you park your XLR or any vehicle in a locked garage dont set the alarm as it draws current all the time. On the XLR exit the vehicle and double click the unlock FOB button. and of course use a tender. Works for me.
So they say. I have personally worked on customers vehicles that the MAF was coated in oil and had to be cleaned, also the K&N is designed for racing not day to day street driving and do not filter as well. Street engines are not frequently rebuilt like racing engines.
You want to keep on top of battery condition along with the cables as a dying battery will make the alternator charge at 100% duty cycle and they cannot stand that. Alternator is expensive $280.00 and engine must be partially pulled to change it.
