Roof panel separating on an '04

Well. Contacted GM as recommended by some members here, and got a response within 24 hours. Not sure what's going to come of it, but I was surprised that they even bothered to respond to the top 'jettison' feature on my '05. Worst case scenario is I just have to pony up the money to get it...

Roof panel separating on an '04

The dreaded roof separation has begun on my 2005 XLR! Just a 6" area in the center of the front edge, but there won't be any highway driving with the top up any time soon. Can't find any good reattachment videos on Youtube. Has anyone done this repair at home, or was it all done through the...

Help! Drain on trunk mounted electronic components

Uhhh...where do you live? They're everywhere out here. You drive into a bay [flat concrete], and on the "touchless" type [no brushes flipping around] the carwash mechanism moves around and over your vehicle with high-pressure nozzles and high-speed blowers dry it off as you exit the bay...

Help! Drain on trunk mounted electronic components

Okay, had the dreaded trunk leakage wipe out my modules literally three days after I got my 2005 XLR. I've read that some people are removing the rubber drain tube, and even drilling more holes in the module box. I got a good look at everything back there while installing Bilsteins and a rear...

    06 XLR - Did I make a mistake???

Hello from St. Louis, MO, Charles! I'm a transplant from CO and still have family there. We rented a cabin up in Idaho Springs last year [Oct] and I was stunned by the water levels at Dillon and Green Mtn Res.! Hundreds of feet low! Hope that 180% extra snowfall helped fill them back up a...

    06 XLR - Did I make a mistake???

Welcome to the forum, Swanny1! I'm fairly new here as I just bought a 2005 XLR on Father's Day weekend [up near Indianapolis]. Didn't have it 3 days and found out the hard way about the trunk leak issues these cars have. Water gets in to the Stability Control and Folding Top modules and...

    CHANGING OUT SHOCKS

Good question, Benny. Interested in finding out myself as I might be forced to do the shock swap if they [G7 Computers] can't get my SC module up and running. I just bought a Tech 2, but still need to do some research on usage. When it comes to 'computer stuff' I know just enough to screw it...

Will do! Thanks for the input!

Need the suspension and top control modules.

Going to have to do a search on the forum and find out what all I need to buy. I read somewhere [maybe here] about 'simulators'. Not sure what they do, but I assume its to fool the computer into thinking everything is status quo in the system.

Need the suspension and top control modules.

Hate to say it [but I repeat myself], but if I really can't get the modules working, I'm pulling the magnetic shocks and throwing in Bilsteins. No d*mn way I'm paying that much for a circuit board that does the same thing that a new set of shocks does. Shame since my 2005 only has 10k miles on...

Need the suspension and top control modules.

Agreed! Hate to say it, but thus far Long Tall Sally is correct. Installed the "repaired" modules, rebooted the car [disconnected the battery and whatnot], same issues. In contact with the people that allegedly repaired the modules now. Film at 11.

Mine wouldn't start without the SC module connected. Ran fine with my drowned one, just really 'floaty] going down the highway. Still need to install the one I got back from G7 Computers. Too hot outside, and too tired when I got home last night.

"Service Ride Control" and top not working

There was a solid 4" of water in the cubby, and a burnt spot about an inch up on the circuit board. I'm guessing I could have them back by Weds. or Thurs. this week, and they're going in the second I get home. Ironically, my '97 F250 4x4 diesel is what I drove to work today, and it's dead in...

"Service Ride Control" and top not working

Haven't received them yet, but I just got this email from G7 Computers! Sounds like they can fix our flooded cubby issue!! The computers you sent here have been repaired. There was a hardware failure on the boards. Usually when the computer fails, so does another part on the vehicle, and if...

Need the suspension and top control modules.

You'll be the second to know! I'm not going to believe it until the modules are back in the car, and everything's "working as advertised".

Let you know in a week or so [finger's crossed!]

Need the suspension and top control modules.

After MUCH surfing and disappointment I may have found a place that says they can repair them [the crowd goes wild!] for $225 each!! IF they can make good on their claim, this website needs to be "stickied" to XLR.net. G7 Computers I had a email conversation with them, gave them the OEM part...

Need the suspension and top control modules.

Had a Subaru DL Wagon back '85 myself! Moved back to Colorado when I got out of the Navy. Thing was impossible to get stuck, and it had crappy baldish tires on it. Always wanted a Brat. Hard to find now [but a lot easier than XLR modules!].

Yep. As I suspected. Got a reply from the Watson Chevrolet link you posted. "Sorry, that part has been discontinued."

Need the suspension and top control modules.

Actually, the SVX is a pretty cool car! Italian designed body with crazy windows [lower halves roll down, upper halves are fixed]. All-wheel drive, and pretty good HP for a 3.3L flat-six.
