2012 Texas Mile - Beeville, Tx 26-28 Oct.

Everyone expects a GT-40 Ford to be fast, but how about a Camaro.... not exactly the most aero package available. The Camaro just missed resetting the record Saturday @ 263.20, exactly .1 slower (263.30) than the GT ran in the more favorable conditions on Friday. Each time Honeycutt would roll...

2012 Texas Mile - Beeville, Tx 26-28 Oct.

I rolled into the Texas Mile about 1pm Saturday and the place was packed with entrants and spectators. The "Cadillac Racing" compound was front row & center with a couple of XLR's, CTS's (one with CA plates), an Allante, Motorhome, and a trailer or two. Between trips to the staging lanes/grid to...

2012 Texas Mile - Beeville, Tx 26-28 Oct.

:beerchug: Congrats... Rained here most of the day so I didn't make the trip. Local forecast for Beeville predicts very nice conditions for tomorrow with the chance of rain @ 0%. Did the "Cadillac Only" pit area work out?

    Montana Spring drive 2013

Thanks to graytoad, Lola's Mom, and hawkeye372 for the info. That gives us a better idea on ways to pack and the standard "dress code" for these adventures.

    Montana Spring drive 2013

Rod, thanks for all of the work you have put in to organize this trip... sounds like a good time. Would you (and some of the others) share some packing tips for those of us who haven't made such a trip with limited storage space? Looking at the preliminary numbers, we would be traveling about...

    News: Dealer wants my XLR

The dealers (all brands) down here have been using the direct mail tactic for a couple of years. I believe they collect info from the motor vehicle department and start a mass mailing. Let us know how this turns out for you.

2012 Texas Mile - Beeville, Tx 26-28 Oct.

Last week we had a couple of days in the 40's with 2" of rain here in the Highland Lakes area of Central Texas. Of course this isn't South Texas but as they say, if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes and it'll change. We used to race @ Edinburg this time of year and normally the...

2012 Texas Mile - Beeville, Tx 26-28 Oct.

Hey Giz, since you didn't respond to my last pm I thought I was on your ignore list! I'm still planning to attend for at least one day. My schedule will dictate when, how long, and where I'll be staying. If I end up not bringing the coach I have friends in Rockport that I can stay with...

2012 Texas Mile - Beeville, Tx 26-28 Oct.

It's still on my calendar pending some other developments. I did not register to run my XLR but it looks like an interesting way to spend an off weekend. I'm sure we can work something out on floorspace, or at least some space under the canopy! I was in your neck of the woods last...

2012 Texas Mile - Beeville, Tx 26-28 Oct.

:dunno:...depends on how many of the "crew" come with me! If I decide to bring the XLR and make a couple of passes I'll bring the trailer. Otherwise, probably just the Jeep to have some wheels.

It's on my calendar as well. Most likely would bring the coach and stay at the facility to avoid the motel and daily commute.

Greetings from the Texas Hill Country...

Thanks for the Welcome. I use "Lonestar" quite a bit in business, other forums, email addy's, etc. so it seemed natural to add "XLR" to it for this forum. I certainly didn't mean to imply that mine was the only one in the state, insult, or offend anyone. Been a while since I've been through...

Greetings from the Texas Hill Country...

Bruce (CT), I appreciate you sending me the info on my car. I couldn't tell if the PM I sent you worked or not as it didn't show in my CP. It still doesn't show as a sent PM. At any rate thanks for the prompt reply & service. :worship: Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome to the forum and I...
